I'm on a self-inflicted aspartame detox after getting freaked by how I could fill the recycling bin with diet coke bottles and then reading Fryman's I can't give up coke thread.

Aspartame is the active ingredient in Diet Coke and aligned to caffeine. So, one day out, chew the panadol because the headaches are coming! Gets better though. Just guzzle water.

I used to do that too. 5-7 of those Arizona tea's each and every day. Then I discovered the joy of kidney stones. Ugh. I miss my tea.

I get a small headache if I dont have a coffee, but if I go cold turkey for a day or two then I'm usually ok, but have on average about 2 cups a day.

I get bad headaches if I have more than 2 cups, so I try to limit my coffee intake, especially after 6pm.

I know how you can get to feel as though you won't wake up properly without it, so I try to avoid it as much as possible. That way, when I really need the stimulant effect you can get from caffeine, it works properly.

    I didn't realize coffee was a drug.

What no coke users, pot heads, pill poppers? Montreal has more drugs easily available that any country I have ever been to including Amsterdam or Colombia.

Canada takes a very different approach to drugs that our neighbor to the south. The do go after the big guys but they don't seem to hassel the users or small dealers. There is no "war on drugs" here. I am really not into drugs but I was shocked at the availability of them when I came here a few years ago.

I fully expect in perhaps as little as 5 years for them to decriminalize marijuana as I believe they have done in the UK and there is even talk they will legalize it. We even have the "Marijuana Party of Canada" political party.

The same exact thing happens to me when I drink coffee or iced tea. I was diagnosed with Lupus a while back so I was kinda forced to give up caffine immediately. And
.. was the one of the BIG reasons that my Physician instisted I quit. So blackbug is very right. I wasn't a very pleasant person to be around for a while, but I sure don't miss the "hurry up and put foil on my windows to keep the light away from me" migraine headaches!

That's is good, I believe in the decriminalization of marijuana. It is not really a big deal. With that said, it is not worthy of a political party. After is is decriminalized, what is their platform? Free snacks?

I'm afriad if they decriminalize marijuana in the US, that the government will just have something else to tax!

Decriminalization does not legalize drugs and regulate and tax them. Decriminalizing drugs means if you are caught with a small amount it is not a crime. If you are caught selling it is still a crime.

Legalizing means making it legal to use and distribute through approved governement or private channels and yes, taxed.
