Unfortunately a common mistake had been made: waiting for the domain name
to be released to re-register rather than renew as soon as possible. It's kinda
understandable since not too many people are really aware, but ignorance has
never really been known to excuse anyone.

It's simply a matter of knowing, much more understanding, the domain name's
"life cycle" itself. The link below can give you an idea:

    http://www.icann.org/registrars/gtld-lifecycle.htm

If the domain name you mentioned in your post is the actual one, it seems to
have been acquired through Go Daddy's TDNAM service. Only option is to try
to buy it from its new registrant.

Lest you have potentially unrealistic expectations, no one has whatever kind
of "absolute" right to the domain name no matter what state it's in. If you do
not renew it on time for whatever reason, you'll practically lose it for good.

    Disappointing? Maybe.

    Hurtful? Sure.

But...what I speak is the truth. Supposedly the truth can set you free.

In the meantime, take it as a lesson learned, try to buy it from its new owner,
then be ready to move on should they not reply or decline to sell it.
