    Right now im just going around forums looking for a section for advertising or a directory forum which allows me to post my directory, but what is another way to advertise it without spending money?

    Simple. If you are looking to get the directory some exposure you should offer free directory submissions for a limited time with no recip links right here at Digital Point. You will get a ton of submissions. After a while you should start ranking in the SEs for all types of keywords. It is tedious at first, but rewarding in the long term.

    I do offer free submissions with and without recipricol links. I was going to make it so you need to pay like $0.10 for a regular link and its free for a recipricol, but that is just silly.

    Btw, i see i posted this in the wrong forum and you moved it, thanks... didnt know exactly where it belonged :p

    Make it free, give it some PR and have it SEO friendly and you will get more advertising than you want :)

    Free = Done
    PR = Working on
    SEO Friendly = 99% sure its SEO friendly (the categorie links go like /entertainment/games/ (doesnt use .php, .html or anything, except for a few links like submit, faq, etc)

    lol :)

    ill try to get something that would display what category a link is in when you search.

    I'm also setting up a directory. Now it's 2012, where do I advertise (on DP and elsewhere)? What PR and look should my directory have?

    For traffic and exposure you should firstly submit your directory to sites which list web directories such as directorycritic. For pagerank and search engine traffic you need to increase the site's link popularity.
