My directories banner, your thoughts..?

What do you think of this;



Think i should keep it...? or get one made..?

I like it but would get a few different options people have differing preferences and tastes
ie a selection of say 3 or 4 mix n match distribute all branded

Looks good! Try making a few more yourself. Then buy one professionally done, see what someone else comes up with. There are alot of great banner designers out there.

In photoshop try "Bevel and Emboss" to give it a 3d feel. Just a thought. Looks ok, but doesn't stand out.

I don't know it you want it to stand out or not? What are you shooting for?

 

The design is great - although the banner doesn't tell me what your site is about - if you hadn't mentioned the content of the site, i would have thought your site to be a search engine. The banner does not clearly state your site is a web directory...

 

I agree, also I would try something that stands out a bit more, I wouldn't be surprised if you put it on a page with a white background and people thought it was the search form of the site.

 

Test it then tweak it

 

Too plain IMO - what something more eye catching.
