gmansky: Uh... let me check my coding and get back to you on that. I had to figure it out so don't know off the top of my head. I think I went to some site to generate the feed with some news I was interested in and then pasted it. But let me check and supply the url if I can find it. UPDATE: Found it. I used the news box wizard found at RSS Mix. christian231: Thank you for your comments. Honestly, I really don't have some major plan for this site. I initially only started it because I just wanted to "show-off" the graphics I can create. So I just stuck some adsense on the frontpage and in other areas as sort of "reminder" that if I decide to really, really get into developing the site and not going about it slowly without much urgency I'd like to rack some revenue with along with it via that. Not really looking into any other way to generate "cashflow". It's more of a personal project as one means of showcasing my talent than anything else. I actually thought to sell it to someone who'd like to further develop it since it wasn't originally my intent to develop it; but still pondering on that. So in the meantime, every now and then I work on it. To answer your question in short, I hadn't really thought about it for the reasons given above. cubechris: Thanks. Yea like I said in my op, it's got a heap of work that needs to be done on it. So it's nowhere near finished. hehe. I've been working on the redesign behind the scenes so what you see now is not the finished product. That's for sure! I have no idea when I'll finish this either being that it's not important enough for me to finish. But thanks for your comments. linkranker: Thank you for your comments, too. "At least you don't need to deal with all that using the Google script." <-- Made me chuckle. hehe. On your site, it's cool how you got the words popping up in the search box when you mouseover the text below it. Interesting idea. I like the feel of your site, too. For some reason I'm really liking how your search results page feels; could be the colors. You don't need a site full of design; you could just go the bare way like Google. Nothing wrong with that at all. Nice work you're doing. All the best to you with your search engine. deshabhishek007: This might sound like a dumb question but what is CMS? Let me guess, content management ?? something ?? haha. I really don't know. Also, was your comment directed towards my engine or Linkrankers? If mine, thank you. If not, oops. (haha). If both, thanks again. john269: Well I didn't want google linking my site from this forum; which is the reason for the tinyurl. I had put space in between the letters of the name of the site but unfortunately it still pulls up in the search engines on this forum together and spaced out. It just defeated the purpose entirely. I would have edited my post but time expired to do that. So... I suppose I can pm a mod to modify my first post. Don't know.
That's a good idea and extremely interesting. I've only used that before on one of my blogs so people could find my past content. Whatever term they searched for, the results would come from my blog and my blog only. It was pretty handy then.
Aislandas: Uh, hard to what? Use??? Now I just woke up and read your post and is it just me or does that not make any sense what you typed? What's so hard about it?
Looks good! Does Google force you to use their network ads like that, or can you put your own Adsense ones?
Hjalle: Thank you for your comments. Appreciate it. markn26: Thank you as well for you compliments. As far as the Adsense, it's not something Google requires. I just decided to put them on there.
