My Blog is way too new to give any meaningful data, but my other site has a CTR of 0.5% to 2%, (a 5 year old site with AdSense for some time). I realize I am new at the whole AdSense thing, but after looking at some posts here I see mentions of 10% CTR or even more. I am worried that I am doing something blatantly wrong here that could be resolved easily. Any idea? Or is my CTR within acceptable limits? I admit that the contents were not the best; I was only updating it once a month, only when something was happening to our software. But I have started to add more meaningful contents on a daily basis, (news related to my software).
That sounds normal. I hope we don't see any more threads on "Help! My CTR is 1,000%" LOL 0.1% to 10% is within the range we all here would expect. I get between 5% to 8%.
Sorry, I didn’t want to ask for help on a subject that I know has been covered to death. But the problem is that search for CTR and almost every thread mentions it. I just wanted to make sure that I wasn’t way off the mark. I know that none of us can discuss our figures, but I wouldn’t mind a general summary of what is 'normal' and what is not. I don’t want to become paranoid about AdSense, but neither do I want to let it underachieve for months. Now that I know it is ok all I have to do is increase my impressions. FFMG
If you have a real site with real content it is likely you will have lower click-through rates because the visitor has other useful and relevant options besides clicking on ads. There are lots of good tips on this forum in terms of placement, blending etc.. Optimize the best you can and go on from there. It is highly unlikely that a truely content laden site is going to see 10%-20% ctr.
This is what I would consider normal. Forums being at the low end usually and sites with ads well optimized throughout the content can reach the 15% mark. You can get higher, but if you can get to 4% youve 'doubled your money' so to speak
