It's not too low, like tonyinabox says. If you're only getting 1% CTR, that means one in every one hundred people is clicking on one of your ads. Now, if your site is small, tonyinabox is right, it's too low. However, if your site is bringing in 100,000 unique visitors a day, that's one thousand clicks. Assuming that some of those clicks are .50 a piece, some are .05 a piece and some are maybe more, getting to your $200 mark is a piece of cake. What matters most is what kind of ads are being shown and what type of site you run.

no its not low. Ctr depends on the type of site you have.if people come on your site to find some information or resource you could have a good ctr. While if you run a forum you would have less ctr. Try periodic variation in your adsense ad's and their colours and try to optimise by blending them.It would help you to get a good ctr.
    best of luck !

    Mine too is low

It's about 1%(Reason-The ads are mainly displayed on directories )

If CTR is low for a particular niche you have to increase the page views of your website

it's not low, it's terrible... lol kidding. :D

really it just depends on the location of the ads being placed. other factors also include: the relevance of the ads being displayed, overall site layout, ad blending, etc.

try to relocate your ads above the fold. this method absolutely increased my ctr and even my ecpm.

    good luck! ;)

Don't let anyone tell you that a 1% CTR is Ok. Because it is not. If the majority of people have a 1% CTR that doesn't mean they are right. This is why the majority of people only make a few bucks/day.

If you CTR is not at least over 7% you are doing something wrong. Either the ads are not well blended, are not targeted, you have an internet savvy audience or adsense is just not performing well on your specific site.

If you really want to make money with adsense, you should have at least a 7% CTR.

Some of you may thing that if you have a 1% CTR and you're making an average of $0,20/click you need 1000 visitors to make $2, 6000 visitors to make $12. That means you rely on traffic only. The higher the traffic the higher the earnings which I think is the wrong approach. And here is why.

If I know how to increase my CTR, let's say to 7%, I'll be making $14 for 10000 visitors (assuming that the average per click is $0.20). With a CTR of 1% you will be making $2 for 1000 visitors. We both have the same number of visitors and there's a good chance we both work equally hard to get 1000 visitors. The only difference is I am making 7 times more money.

If you really want to make money with adsense, forget about increasing traffic. Get a high CTR and then work on your marketing. If you cannot increase your CTR, jump to another niche.

WOW you guys are lucky. Here it is not even half percent :(

But yes most of my traffic is webmasters and domainers. So they already stay away from ads.

I would kill for a 1% CTR. Mine is about 0.1 to 0.4.

Oh wait, are we allowed to disclose our CTR?

If you have a site like a game site, or a forum, it is sure to have a low CTR. However, if you want to improve your Click Through Rate, you should work around the placement of the Google Ads on your pages.

Thank you very much for all, giving good ideas for me.I have the main traffic from web masters from forums.Everyone know about adsense.so they skip the ads.
I'll try to get a huge traffic as organic results and typical web users.
