get a good CPU cooler (read Zalman CMPS9700) and if possible a better cabinet (read Antec Nine Hundred)
have you ever cleaned the inside of the case?? what's the CPU? must be made of stone to survive that temp
dunno lol but my cpu is an Athlon xp 1700+ 1.47ghz and yup i clean it almost once every 2 months or so.
old school! time for an upgrade son! that might be normal for those back then do you have a good heat sink/fan combo? do you have like 8 hard drives running on it that might be getting the case too warm?
Its high time you think of getting an alternative method for cooling your system. You must think of getting an extra cooling device otherwise who may have a tough time with your PC, in the long run.
That CPU tends to Overheat, AMD admitted it. Either upgrade, or use a water cooling system. Athlon XP works at high temp.. if it was Intel's it would have been fried long ago...
You got yourself a calor gas Now seriously just buy a new cooler The Webmaster your wrong I had a old pc with Intel Celeron and sometimes i worked on it for like 30 minutes without even a cooler Amd without cooler = burned out don't you know the Joke
Just try to place it horizontally & keep the cabinet open with the AC on. I do this with my P4 & it is on 24 hours (havent shut it down for 8 months now , except for electricity cuts)
Upgrade the PC dude!!! 6 Years Old PC Now AMD has sorted out that Problem of Overheating I have AMD x64 3100+ no problems watsoever May you can use CPU Fans 4-5
Your temperature is very low compared to mine. Mine reached 95 C before while playing GTA San Andreas. ...and i have a laptop. According to Everest Ultimate Edition 2007, i have a CPU Diode temperature of 77 C right now, i am not working hard either. My hard drive temperature is 51 C according to the same software. Rob
The AMD duron processors used to run at higher temperatures. The athlon Xp series is fine. Check to ensure that the cpu cooler is seated properly. Make sure that the chassis has enough ventilation.
Thats normal for the old AMDs, just make sure you have the motherbaord setting to shutdown when it hits 80°C. I still have one of those old machines running and during summer i need to take of the doors of the tower so there is enough ventilation to cool it.
