I like this forum a lot, so I decided to give out a little secret tool I found once which is very useful for those who like link building through commenting on blogs, adding their links to wikis, anyways, adding their links to 3rd party sites in order to generate backlinks. As many of you guys already know, there's a big problem with the nofollow tag. Well I'm gonan show you how to make your browsers recognize and show links which have the nofollow tag, so you don't trouble yourself with that 1. Get the ChromEdit Plus plugin for firefox and mozilla-based browsers here; http://www.softpedia.com/get/Tweak/Browser-Tweak/ChromEdit-Plus.shtml Install the extension, (restart the browser first), in Firefox go to ‘Tools’, ‘ChromEdit Plus’, and then ‘ChromEdit’. The ChromEdit Plus box will then pop up and you will then go to ‘userContent.css’. Add the following lines of code to the bottom: a[rel~="nofollow"] { border: thin dashed firebrick ! important; background-color: rgb(255, 200, 200) ! important; } Code (markup): This will make ‘nofollow’ links have a pink background, dotted outlining. I saved the rudimentary abstract of the instructions into a textfile once but I don't know who the original author is. If anyone knows, let me give him credit by psoting here I hope this little tool will be helpful to someone.
If you don't want to install the FF extension, it's actually pretty easy to add the CSS code to your FF profile manually. Shut down Firefox Locate your FF profile Go into the "chrome" dir. If it doesn't exist, create it. If you don't know where your FF profile dir is, read this: http://www.mozilla.org/support/firefox/profile#locate Create the file userContent.css if it doesn't exist Add the CSS code to the userContent.css file Restart FF Thanks to Cifra for a great tip.
Yes, Their is SEO toolbars that already do this and much more: SEO toolbar from SEObook.com SEOQuake toolbar also does this. Nice share non the less.
There are a couple Firefox plugins to show 'nofollow' links. One highlights the link and the other draws a line through it. Just do a search for SEO. I believe one is SEOHAND.
This tool here automatically hides the no follow tag and it sits on the status bar out of the way. Plus it has like 9 other features. Just click the link to see a screen shot. http://www.quirk.biz/searchstatus/
Use Aaron's tool on SEOBook.com. The NoFollows are showed in red, they are annoying to view, but this is the best tool in the industry. Great tool shown in this post, great programming work, the negative aspect of SEOBook's SEO tool is the red text, a pink outlined text is much cleaner and neater...
Yeah, forget what I said about quirk.biz/searchstatus/ the SEOBook.com one is a lot better and the nofollow links don't have to be red. They can be whatever you want but better then that, it shows page rank, links, domain age, and everything else when you search google.
