New here -- and wanted to dump some knowledge on you all and open my self up for questions. -- The caveat is I am also recruiting affiliates to promote some online casinos The base deal is 30% RevShare or $60 CPA -- more traffic more money! I will be releasing more information like this and actually helping my affiliates grow! This is an excerpt from my write-up. Twitter: Twitter (http://twitter.com ) Twitter is a “micro blogging†software platform. It’s catching on and is becoming pretty mainstream boasting millions of users and massive monthly growth twitter is a valuable tool for any Affiliate looking to expand their business. General twitter overview: Twitter has evolved in the way that people use it here are the basics: @reply – putting the @inserttwitterusername will send a message addressing a specific person, which is like engaging in a 1 on 1 (or group conversations @bob @mary @joe – Good Morning! Would be like sending a personal message to all three in one message) #topic – Hashtag (#) is to track topics that people want to talk about on twitter. These can be used from anything from event tracking #Grammys, to TV Shows and Feelings: #24; #Happy. Search sites also track these so you can see who is talking about any given topic. DM – Direct messages are private message to a single recipient, good for sending contact info, private links, etc. Tweet – A tweet is the accepted term for when someone makes a new post to the twitter timeline Twitter alone is great, but there are many free tools and services out there that will make life much easier on you while trying to expand your twitter presence! Here is a list with some descriptions and potential uses: There are a few important things to remember when using twitter as a business platform: 1: Consistency Consistency Consistency – The Timeline (all post on twitter) whizzes by, and when you start getting into the thousands of friends there is a huge stream of information, including yours. Utilize programs like Bird to set up your tweets on a schedule. There are traditionally a few times of the day where your messages will reach more people, this is between 10 and 11 AM est., and 7 and 9 PM est. Be active in your twitter stream by setting preplanned tweets and talking with your followers the more they know your name and the more that they see posts from you the more likely they are to click on the links that you post: Think Corporate identity/Branding. The more it’s recognized the more reputable it becomes. 2. Interaction – Interacting with your followers is vital on twitter. You can just post links all of the time and never interact with your followers but your click through rate and ultimately conversions will be much lower then if you interact with your followers. Imagine some random person on the street giving you a flier… how likely are you going to even a) take the flier and B) read/act on the flier? Much less then if someone you have had a few conversations hands you the same flier. In fact you’ll take it almost all of the time and will have a greater chance of “checking it outâ€. This is pretty much the difference between a cold and a warm lead. -Tip – Send hello messages when you log on, use a tool like Twhirl or Tweet deck to keep up to date with people who @reply to you and @reply back to them, this opens up the lines of communication and the people are coming to you, you aren’t hunting them down. 3. Targeting – Make sure that the people you are adding as friends are people interested in what you are trying to push: You wouldn’t try to sell a guy feminine products or a kid to a gambling website. 4. Call to action – As with all marketing it’s crucial that whatever you put out there (as far as promotional materials, polls, etc) all have a very defined call to action. 5. Twitter Limits, How not to get banned – Another very important thing to remember when you are using twitter for business reasons is that twitter has limits. This is to prevent spam. This is a constantly evolving number and has different impact on different accounts. New accounts now receive 700 credits per day. A credit is used whenever you Un-follow, Follow, or DM someone. Tweets are on their own credit system, but you wont run into problems there unless you are sending out 1000 tweets a day. e.g. You follow 200 people, un-follow 300 , and then try and send 201 DM’s you 201st DM will not send (often cases you wont see an error either, it just wont work). If you consistently are hitting the max number everyday you account will be suspended. This is happening more quickly and more frequently. For aged accounts (accounts created before July 2009) you have 1000 credits. This also may be a tier system so after a certain time frame you get more credits. The other hard limit in twitter is following more then 2000 people. You can’t until you have roughly 2000 people following you. They way you get up there is to constantly un-follow and follow people to get your followers to the 2k mark. <br> Gaining twitter followers: 1. Programs like hummingbird are paid programs that will auto add twitter followers based on targeted search information: 2. FollowFriday On Fridays people tweet #FF and recommend people to their followers: think chain letter, but to attract more followers, pretty large and widely accepted. 3. Add a link to your twitter in e-mail signatures/webpages – entice people to join. “For our last minute specials follow us on twitter†4. Participate in discussions: Search for hashtags about your topic/niche and join the conversation. 5. Become and authority. Make discussion posts with #hashtags and open yourself up for questions 6. Use the great tools out there, some were posted at the beginning of this write-up
