The reason people make viruses is because they can make a lot of money from that, so the only way to get rid of viruses permanently is if we redesign our society so that we no longer use money, because money makes people care more about profit than fellow humans and their wellbeing.

For a temporary solution, use malwarebytes and install an antivirus like Avast or AVG.

Depends on the severity of the virus. If it is minor then yes the free options are viable. If you feel it may be a trojan or something serious then you really need to get a paid service like norton or mcafee. Paying a fee for a quality antivirus is worth especially if someone is able to steal your identity from your computer.

The best virus protection I ever owned is ESET's NOD32 Antivirus. I set up Mcafee, Kaspersky, Symantec's Norton Antivirus, and most of the free antivirus's out there.
The only difference between them all is that they never find the same viruses. Remember, there is nothing for free. There is a price. So when someone finds a "free" antivirus, think to yourself, "Is this really free?" When you buy a computer from a store brand new, it comes with a 30 day free trial of a particular antivirus. So, in order to effectively protect your computer, you need to pay. Think of it this way, Pay $30 or $40 dollars for a good antivirus, OR, $150 to have a repair shop clean your computer for you? Usually the $30 to $40 dollars is a one year subscription. I have been using ESET NOD32 for going on 3 years and never had a lost time event. My computer has never seen a repair shop in 3 years.

    Hi Karry,

So sorry to hear that your computer has a virus on it. Are you currently subscribe to an ISP provider, who provides automatic antivirus protection? if so, you can ask them how to automatically download your free automatic antivirus protection to your PC or laptop and activated from there. If you don't have that option through your Internet service provider, please feel free to check out the link below on DrewryNewsNetwork. please let me know how I may be additionally of service in helping you keep your computer protected! :)

before you run any exe files on your PC.

Install sandboxie on your PC and run programs in it first. It's exactly what it says on the tin. You put the little buggers in there and see if they will infect anything. When using this you can chose the Default Box or you can create other boxes too. Sandboxie doesn't allow any file to escape the box. Therefore a virus or malicious malware cannot infect the rest of your PC.

Personally i swear by MSE: Microsoft Security Essentials and Super Anti-Spyware.
