I haven't tried Microsoft Security Essential...I thought it is a demo and would not protect the computer completely. Can you please tell that whether it is effective against the viruses, spyware, malware, protection of passwords and has firewall or not?

Well if you think its a big problem then you just go for formating or you just scan your system part wise.Better to try good quality of debugger or Antivirus.Always update your antivirus which will protect you computer from viruses.Mcafee is the best Antivirus now a days.

Bug free computer is impossible, one way or another as you use your computer over time it will catches some bugs. No matter if you are using the best tools out there.
However i want to recommend the best antivirus i would say Kaspersky, Avira, or ESET NOD32

I'd suggest you first look at reviews before committing to anything. And go for a complete internet security package and not just antivirus software. With internet security software you get antivirus, firewall, antispyware features all in one. Good luck

oh i hate virus' maybe consider buying a mac :D i would suggest backing up all your files in safe mode and then re-booting your system with a fresh copy of windows as avg, norton ect.. fails to get rid of some hard core virus' :(
