This happens only on my sister's account, she uses the same pc.

I've always used a limited account and her account is also limited. I also keep my account limited incase some trojan borns, he cant harm the system files.

So now my account works fine, but my sisters hangs at random times...

This is nothing bcz of over heating or watever bcz it never happens to me... ONLY on my sister's account.

I tried doing a virus scan, nothing came up...

Can you suggest me something else? I am running win xp sp2 (i know i should upgrade to sp3, but i dont think that's any problem here)...

and i've also tried clearing her cookies and all cache...

sounds like you have some sort of spyware installed. i would encourage you to to get a spyware, malware, and adware scanner. yes i know, its time consuming, but trust me, the computers only going to get slower if you leave it.

re-install the OS seems to be the best option for your problem.

You might want to format your computer. Also, I recommend Ubuntu instead a Windows OS, just for easier usage and way less viruses.

I would also watch where you surf and don't download random stuff. Vet what you do need to download. Do regular spyware and virus scans. I don't run virus scans because I seldom get them (I have Ubuntu) but it's always a good idea to run spyware scans. Run them once a week.

Spyware has always been a bigger issues to me regardless of the OS I use because it's more prevalent and easier to get.

There are too many variables to diagnose your problem from what you've told us. Please be more specific, pc age, specs, last time you vacummed it, etc...

I would try Spybot Search and Destroy, in safe mode especially :)

i would reinstall windows if i were in your place, because after a while you will get errors about your System32, and you'll have to reinstall anyway
    better sooner than later ;)
