My Competitor Is Using PayPerPost To Rank 1st In Google For Very Good Keywords!

    What do I do!?

Every backlink to this site is a "paid post" ordered through PPP. This is really unfair. I'm compiling a list of the sites (Over 4000) that have pure evidence that they use PayPerPost and link it to the damn bastard's site.

Anyone have any other suggestions as to how I should handle this?

Well, hmmm, paying for over 4000 sponsored links to game Google? What's wrong with that? I don't know.... you tell me..

O well, I guess I'm going to have to do this the hard way. He bought irrelevant sites so, it shouldn't be too hard to take him out. It'll be fun to see him when he figures out he waisted so much money on it. LOL! He'll probably spend even more once he sees I outrank him. lmao....

The obvious answer would be to start buying links from payperpost yourself.

Or if you don't have enough cash to spend there, try reporting them to Google using http://www.google.com/contact/spamreport.html. The probability that it'll help you at all is pretty low, but it may be worth it.

OR There's the possibility that you work for Payperpost and are trying to get people to sign up and buy your services. In which case: next time you might want to tone down the "they have an unfair advantage", "they're ranking 1st in Google for Very Good Keywords!", making up stories, etc. And it would probably be a bad idea to respond and insist you're not making it up, because that would make it dead obvious that you are.

That's what I'm going to do. Hopefully it will do something. I'll probably contact Matt as well. Get emails of the right people from Google and tell them about it too.

However, I still think using good SEO practices will get me above him. He doesn't even have one relevant site that is linking to him, so maybe I shouldn't be worried

Well, I don't see anything ethically wrong with using payperpost. But i can understand why you are frustrated. Sounds like your competition is smart and has a bigger budget than you. I wish you good luck, but i dont recommend ratting on sites to google - just isn't good karma...

Besides, even if you complain to google, they aren't going to take action to your specific situation, they will just try to add a filter to their algorithm that affects everyone.

Your best bet is to out-smart your competition, or get a bigger budget. Otherwise, your in the wrong business.

If he has a bunch of links from non-related sites I think you'll be able to get him in the long run. You said that this person bought over 4000 links - that means you will need more than 4000 legit links to take him down. I would start working on every possible angle to acquire those links!

Yeah, true. I can compete though, just a little frustrated.

Relevancy and fresh content will pull through for me.

Yeah, I don't deny that he is using a very effective way to build his base, but it's his ONLY way. Well, excluding the one-way link exchanges he is also doing.

I am not going to use PPP b/c I believe it is unethical, but that's just me...

I never used Pay-per-post but from my point of view, there are some other ways to help you get backlink as natural and may outrank them.

    - If you have a buzz idea and you are a good writer. Write unique plus useful articles and submit to article directories yourself. Most of them are free and effective, especially for Ezinearticles because their guideline are very strictly and that make people and search engine trust on their editorial.

    - Create some fuzzy story on your website and submit them to major social bookmark site like Digg.com, Propeller, etc. If your story got on first page then you have a good chance to receive flood of traffics plus natural link from other webmasters who like your story.

I find it odd you only have 5 posts on this forum yet you know all the buzz and terminology and people. Something smells fishy.

My posts are low, myself I always lurked and recently signed up. I found this site to be more laid back than another I've been a member of a long time.

Report the website to Google and they will bring his PR to 0. There are articles all over the net of websites that had their PR brought down to 0 by advertising on PayPerPost websites.
