You can get first page Google in two days, it all depends on what keyword you are targeting. Bumping a well established web site out of number one spot is not going to happen over night. Getting on page one is one thing, getting number one spot is entirely different. If number one site web master knows his shit you may never bump him off top spot. Yeah,start a forum and make your site get backlinks from your forum.

 

Concentrate on getting backlinks.. this not a matter of day or a month. It will take time.

 

If you are going to follow SEOBusiness advice in starting another forum for the purpose of getting back-links to your main forum, be sure to do it on a separate hosting account. Otherwise the links wouldn't be worth much to you.
