Hello Everyone, I am about to launch a large network of websites, some of them are targeted towards webmasters, but some of the websites sell things like parental control software and hosting. My audience for these two websites will not be people who are not regularly online and so they will not have things like moneybooker. What would be the best way for them to purchase the software from my website? The payment processor I use is moneybooker, and the software will be priced at around $29.99. So what shall I do? The best thing would be for them to pay via credit card or debit card, but how do I set that up? Thanks Jonathan
Hosting and other webmaster services sound fine for Moneybookers assuming your audience is the computer savvy. For the software Paypal could work, but even though they don't require your customers to have an account people often get that impression anyways. There are a number of processors that can just plug into a website with no accounts being required for your customers, my own company EC Suite being one, Plimus and FastSpring both have a focus on software as well.
I am not using paypal, I have had a large legal battle with them and so I am not using them. I really want to make it easy for my customers to buy the software, whats your opinion?
check out midphase they are a web host but they just released a payment solution with lower rates than paypal
If you are planning to use Moneybookers.com , opt for the Merchant Services option which would allow you to receive credit card payments directly which would probably mean that your customers do not need to be moneybookers account holders. It would however cost you 8% fees and no fees for your customers. Alternatively, you can look at 2checkout.com which seems to be quite widely used as payment processors for web hosts.
I am looking more at people buying the parental control security software, because I know for a fact that any parent buying it would not have moneybooker or paypal, therefore would pay using a credit card, but I was wondering how I set that up
I think Google checkout allows buyers to pay via credit card ohh i think they should have account in it then i think 2checkout is the best or better be with paypal itself buyers can pay via credit card if they dont have paypal account.
I personally think that you should use 2Checkout, i think they accept paypal now also, plus you'll get scammed less.
Take a look at EC Suite then, we're a processor similar to 2CO. Our payment forms are easy to plug into your website and don't require your customers to have an account. Our forms are also very customizable and can be made to match your website. We also specialize in digital content like software and can help with automatic download/delivery of the product after the purchase has been made.
