My .cn - am I being scammed?

Hi, I thought i'd check here for opinions.

I was contacted a few weeks ago by a registrant claiming somone was trying to register 'my' domain name (I have the .com, .com.au, .co.uk, .co.nz and a few others) in China and they 'wanted to check if this person had authorisation to do so'. I sort of suspected it was someone fishing for good domain names to resell, but I replied and said no, I didn't know who that person was.

They were also claiming that this person was trying to register our 'internet trademark'.

So he replies with an invoice for thousands of dollars to register the domain for 10 years as well as the internet trademark.

Bottom line, I think the trademark thing is a bit scammish, and I know this guy has registered my domain on .cn and .com.cn and is trying to resell to me, but is there any value in this address? The .asia is available so I figure i'll take that anyway, but should I pay for the .cn?
