My clothing shop needs a shopping cart!

    Hi,

I just wondered if any of you business owners have any experience with shopping carts? I've recently started my own clothing line and we are going to target online customers within the coming months.

We already have our web design done so we're looking for a reliable cart that can be integrated without too much hassle. We will be selling clothes and trainers so we need something that is easy to update and maintain with the options of trying to install other mods where necessary, does anyone know of the best selling cart right now?

    Thanks

This really depends on a wide range of things from brand related matters to whatever technical prowess exists internally on your end.

While a bit more vexing to attend to out of the gate I typically suggest using Magento but there is a bit of setup involved to get it up to speed and designed accordingly.
It is however the fastest way to get your self to an enterprise level solution with a free, open source app.

Happy to answer questions but you have quite a few I suspect, that may not have occurred to you yet. If you want to drop me a PM I am typically available for a free as in beer consult to get you started on the right path. Its what I do for the most part.

    hope that helps,
    Nigel

Oscommerce is a good solution. They have lots of plugins and addons that your website can be completed within little time.

OsCommerce is a trainwreck of bad coding practices, seo and usability.

I prefer zen cart, probably because I have a lot of experience with it.

I like magento and am moving over to that, the coding seems complex so far.

Best thing you can is, get a hosting package and set up everyone you hear of and see for yourself.

Usually go with magento, OS cart , opencart and zen cart is most use by online business and do not get any bad feedback from that other than hard to managed .
Usually shopping cart won't give much issues while payment gateway are the one give much issues.

    Hi Friend,

Thats a great idea starting an ecommerce business online, High revenue earning platform. I would like to suggest 3 things for ecommerce as my experience will help you.

    1. If you are planning to buy a ecommerce script, then AJ Shopping Cart Software ,will be the right choice with plenty of user friendly facilities.

    2. If you worry about hosting issue, you can get Zscart - SaaS Ecommerce solution with easy monthly payment option and free trial too. you can make your shop with in five minutes.

    3. If you are looking for free source means, Zeuscart will be right choice. Highly downloaded open source script online.

Good luck ...Choose one for successful ecommerce business.

Well, for zencart, you must think. Though it may offer good features but still I hate its interface. Better you should try tomatocart. For clothing, it is more cost effective and good. An other option is of course Opencart.

Opencart and Magento are two great options. They have got some great designs and also very easy to handle for both at customer and admin end.

I have been looking at zen cart recently but after looking at opencart and some demos with live clothing shops i'm not very interested in open cart. It looks very simple and i've heard good reviews on it. Does anyone else agree?
