    Hi there,

A potential client wants me to post 1-2 times per month a new newsletter on her website. This newletter could be 2-3 A4 pages long of text, but not more then that. My client will deliver text and there is already a template I can use. Basicly, I just add text to file, save file and that's it!

Besides that, my client wants me on a weekly basis to post on her website a short news alert! Again, text will be delivered and I just add text to file basicly. That's it!

I don't know how much I need to charge my client for this job! I mean there is not much work involved I guess, no design etc. Just adding text which will be delivered!

Any suggestions what amount I should charge my client?

(Please note this is a non-profit organization!)

    Many thanks, :)

    Mike

Simple, find out the minutes you will take for it monthly, round of it in hours and multiply with your hourly rates. Add the extra profit you may want to, or round of it to a minimum decent amount!

I usually charge about $50 per issue, most clients are happy with that

Some webdesigners charge a monthly fee for website updates, changes, etc. to a maximum of xx hours for $xx-$xxx amount of cash. Just figure out how much you want to charge her per month for website maintanence, and bill her accordingly.

Yes, we charge a retainer fee for customers that want ongoing support. They pay a fixed fee (which is lower than our normal hourly rate) and get up to X hours a month support. If they dont use X hours in a month they simply lose it, if they need more than X hours then the additional time reverts to our normal billing cost.

For one off jobs, estimate the amount of time including contingency, we round to the 1/2 hour (with a min of 1 hour) and times by your hourly rate. Shouldnt need to add anything for "profit" as this should be included in your hourly rate.
