Why don't you use my CB id? :D Lol , your idea is innovative but you have to pick active affiliates.

Yes you are right, and I have managed to find a small list of active affiliates. If I run out, I'd be happy to use your ID :D

btw yesterday I contacted about 10 affiliates. Only got a response from one so far (a 1 in 10 ratio seems about normal) but, get this, he's a PPC affiliate for many products.

Here's what I did - I just typed in keywords for a totally unrelated health product. I figure that serious PPC affiliates are happy to promote any product as long as it makes them money, they don't restrict themselves to just one product.

I then wrote to this guy and we have been very active in communication. I cannot emphasise enough how much to offer your help in your first email. And then in subsequent emails, give as much information as you can, be as helpful as you can.

Just look at his latest response:

Seems that good affiliate support is a relative rarity.

I am hopeful for a profitable future for both of us :)

Interesting read. I like what you write "rolf" - maybe you can include such good info in v2 of your ebook about product creation.

Hey thanks mate, well my intention here is to report my progress, share many tips but not give away the farm: probably I will make a short report on recruiting affiliates - there doesn't seem to be anything good out there or I would have bought it already!!

btw yesterday I placed an ad on a popular forum, unfortunately there's no way to track how effective this is but I'll just have to wait and see.

My Google Alerts returned some results today. I noticed that some guy was advertising my blood pressure product in a make money Yahoo Group!!! WTF! I just don't understand why so many affiliates use such crappy traffic strategies that will never make any sales and are just a waste of time!

The other thing I should mention is about forum sigs.

Obviously, you can see my forum sig here. Can you see how because DP limit your sig characters, I have created a page showcasing my products?

I am using a similar sig on clickbanksuccessforum.com (where I also placed the ad).

And I am using a sig on Warrior Forum too.

Man, I've felt in the past like I've wasted a lot of time on forums but at least if I post every day I will maintain a presence and attract new affiliates. And I recommend using an enticing text in your sig. Don't be afraid to call to action.

    @rolf
This has been an enjoyable thread to read, do keep up the good work ^^

I might suggest that you post traffic/conversion stats too, in case the product has some active affiliates that are making some good sales-especially if you/they are promoting your blood pressure report, this niche has proven to yield a lot of good sales and can be spread across n number of other niches like for diabetics or heart patients. There's another health niche publisher that did the same and his product has xx gravity now.

    All the best :)

Thanks MA, I shall definitely report progress as I go along.

Glad you pointed out the blood pressure guide. This is my personal "baby" I'm very proud of and I really want to get more affiliates on board for it. They all seem to be flocking to my tinnitus product though!

Just an update guys, you can see that since I started this thread on 10th April that my gravity has skyrocketed from 4 to 15.

Here's what I've noticed and learned so far:

    • I'm getting new affiliates pretty much every day now.
    • The affiliates are growing faster than I am personally recruiting them.
    • Maybe it's too early to say, but I think critical mass is achieved when you hit a gravity of around 10 or so. I don't know for sure because I've seen products tank from this gravity so I'm not going to give up my efforts yet. One affiliate mentioned they saw my product on cbengine.
    • I'm not sure why nearly all my recruiting success is in the tinnitus product. In particular, my blood pressure product is just as good as a product and as a convertor. I've done pretty much equal promotion, going after PPC affiliates in these niches AND general Clickbank PPC affiliates.
    • In hindsight, I would probably tackle each product separately. I feel I'm spreading myself a little thinly by trying to get affiliates for all my products but the problem is I don't want my gravity to sink too low for the other ones.
    • I recommend to keep updating your affiliate tools and then to send your opted in affiliates an update. If nothing else, it will wake them up to your product in case they had forgotten about it. I have no way of tracking this though, it's just a hunch.
    • I have bought traffic via a link sale on an affiliate forum. For all I know this could explain all the great gravity boost. But again, I have no way to track it so I just don't know.

Would appreciate your thoughts on my efforts. Should I change anything about the way I'm going about it?

Thanks for using my graphs :) They look ace. And well done with such a steep climb. I'll keep an eye on this, might get about 50 articles written if it converts well :)

Hey brooks, it's going well thanks. I've been quite busy recently with other activities and I need to get back to this.

I'm not concerned about the tinnitus product now. Since I last wrote here, the tinnitus has gone even higher, has peaked, and now appears to be settling down. I'll be back to push that one even higher later.

But right now I need to boost the gravity of the other products. I'm looking at promoting these products with the affiliate link of superaffiliates to get on the radar (I have no way to contact them). As well as boosting my gravity, they may even contact me to find out more and promote it long term, I hope :)

Something else I need to do as well is to spread myself further afield. So far I have stuck with the same niches. But there are many sites out there that are general health sites (especially those that have a newsletter). Though they won't convert as well as dedicated niche sites, I only need one sale to get the boost to my gravity. Plus there are tons of these sites out there.

Thanks for the reminder to get back on this :)
