My Clickbank VENDOR diary - Recruiting Affiliates

OK guys, a diary with a difference. As a CB vendor, we all want sky high gravities.

But rarely does just making announcements here get you this. You have to go out there and find the gold.

So stay tuned and watch my gravity rise as I go out and get some affiliates, share what I learn and hopefully, double, triple my income or even better.

I'll start my provisionally saying I will email 50 affiliates per day. Ideally even more but I think that 50 is a good starting target.

Please reply with your questions, advice and give me your support. The more support I have, the more likely I can succeed and we can all learn something!! :D

There are plenty of CB sites you can advertise on to attract affiliates.

That sounds like a great plan Rolf! I will be watching this thread to see how well you do.

Will you be posting in this thread how and where you will find these affiliates?

I'll be watching too rolf. I'm always on the lookout for new affiliates :)

Obvious question: where are you getting affiliate email addresses? By scouring Google for popular products and digging out a contact address?

Thanks guys. I'm using a variety of techniques but all are free.

    - PPC guys
    - SEO guys (banners, text links etc.)
    - listbuilding guys

And for all these, you could also split a different way:

    - promoting similar products
    - promoting non-similar products

Either way, I'm only going after guys who already know what Clickbank is. I don't see the mileage in needing to educate people about Clickbank.

Anyway, yesterday emailed about 20 people. Very hit and miss but this is normal. For example, had about 4 email bounces. No way I can contact these people unfortunately. But already had one great response (usually takes a few days to hear from people). Check it out:

    ----------------------------
If you can add my conversion tracking code to your thank you page, then I'll
    switch right now. See attached.

Affiliate support is important to me and I'm impressed with your email.

My real name and phone number are below.
    ----------------------------

All it takes is one lucky strike and it can potentially add $10 per day or even more to my bottom line.

I can't do any more for the weekend now because I have some major house chores to do but I'll carry on from Monday.

This is very similar to a technique that I have just started to use to recruit affiliates.

I do a Google search for "[niche] forum" and "[niche] ezine" then contact the site owners telling them about my product and how much they can earn by sending out an email promoting my product to their member lists.

I do the same thing. (not often enough) You can pick up active affiliates and have two way communication already established which is very beneficial.

    Good luck with this Rolf.

    Cheers for the support guys.

btw brooks, try this query for looking for list owners. It has worked really well for me, I've made a ton of sales from a few affiliates using this: google:

    <niche> name email never

That will pick up a ton of good lists!

    Congratulations rolf!

I tried your query in your previous post but did not bring up any relevent sites to contact, could you elaborate a little more on your technique?

    thanks man.

Sure, let's say the niche is eczema. I modified the query a little. So type into google:

eczema name email never -comment -wordpress

On page 1 alone I found:

    http://www.psoriasiseczema.com/eczema-relief.html
    http://www.repcillin.com/eczema.php

Basically looking for what it might say on an opt-in.

You could also add the word "tips" or "newsletter".

OK here's a novel idea that I'm thinking about. Just one strategy of many.

What do you think about using the hoplink for other affiliates i.e. driving traffic to someone else's hoplink but for your own product?

At best, you might catch the attention of the affiliate when they see a sale and they might see your product's potential and start to promote you.

    At worst, your gravity benefits.

What do you think? I know this might seem counter-intuitive at first but if you think about it, the worst that can happen is that you get a big gravity.

If you just want to increase gravity, create multiple accounts and use those hoplinks. A decent gravity and a decent gain in gravity will attract new affiliates.

Sure, but to get maximum gravity benefit, which is the whole point of this exercise, I'd have to use many, many different accounts. I'll never meet the CDR anyway so I might as well try to get the benefit of being seen by other affiliates.

Who knows, some may feel compelled to promote me because I made them a bit of free money!

I'm trying something new which is adding the names of my competitor products to Google Alerts.

That way, I can quickly catch "fresh" or affiliates new to the niche. They can capitalise on their efforts by promoting my products too. The big advantage I have, of course, is the 75% commission. Although pretty popular in this forum, it ain't across the whole of Clickbank.
