My website gets shockingly bad value pr click. (sub 10 cents on average). I need a way to increase their value if its possible. The website in question is: http://www.freecss.info All tips please tell. I was thinking competitive ad filter to filter spam ads but it might just be css keywords are of poor value.
It is some time's depend on the type and niche of the site. I have heard ppl say mobile related content fetches good ads (high paying) but for my site it fetches next to nothing some times 0.01$ per click.
a lot of the ads are off-target for the content of the site. for instance, with the adsense preview tool you are showing newsletter templates, business card templates, and frontpage templates... that's not what your traffic wants, they are looking for css page templates. load up the filter with the mfa junk, and all the lousy targeting, give it month, and get back to us... i'd like to know if it helps.
i would suggest, remove all the offtargeted ads so it results in more clicks using the ad filter. then, wait and see whether it converts better + more CPC
I would like mention also the stunning ad blindness I had. I took me 10 seconds to find your ads! Someone mentioned about the word "Free". Google also uses keywords from URL so there nothing you can do about that unless you get a new domain. Your stuck with "free". If you suspect an Ad on your site is a MFA, look at the URL on the bottom of the ad and type it in your browser. or use the Adsense Preview Tool (only works for I.E)
Yeah but when you get to the website what does it look like? It may just be a poorly designed site and I would class it as MFA.
if it doesn't have any useful content, it's an mfa... mfa link farms, for instance, are real common these days. you provide css layouts as content, so you are not an mfa'er. the bad keyword here is "template"... google is serving up ads for just that term, which is the type of thing that they do all the time.
I put a lot of the irrelevant ads onto the filter list. I also added an add block top left. I hope to see any changes.
Maybe very true. Instead of replying here right away, when I read your comment, I immediately started this new thread ... http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?p=4152627#post4152627 Very real possibility.
So you went trying to earn from Affiliate commissions from Text link Ads? Thats actually not a bad idea perhaps. People come to your site looking for CSS stuff, right? So they are probably webmasters any way..They see the Text-link-ads banner and maby it'll interest them. To put on there site.
