they'll wait until you hit $100, then when you request your check, they'll ban you and not send you the check.

    free advertising for google

but seriously, we have all clicked on our own ads whether by accident or on purpose. some of us have been banned, most of us who were banned, were reinstated. if you haven't heard anything from google, don't worry.

that means you say that I can continue publishing Google ads on my site and when I reach $100 they will ban me

and at that time the whole world will fall on me

I am not prepared for that

So you can't even make the minimum monthly amount for a payout yet the world is going to fall down on you without that income

Might be time to reconsider your career choice

I am not saying in that sense

I am already earning other than this as I am not dependent on google adsense any more

I am just saying that my hard work in tweaking my ads and putting it in correct spots will be simply waste of time for me

just wait to see what happens.

If they ban you then open up another account, its fairly simple.

There is definitely some anecdotal evidence that this is how it works. It makes sense to me; the publisher rightfully gets nothing for cheating the system, the advertiser gets his money back (even though he may have had some conversions from honest clicks) and Google send out the message that they are taking fraud seriously. You will feel it much more it they hit you for $100+ than if they'd banned you at the first fraudulent $5. It probably is too late to email though. I mean what are you going to say? "I accidentally clicked on two dozen of my own ads 6 months ago but I only just got around to telling you". Probably better to cross those fingers and hope you get away with it!

    Cheers
    BP

PS Ignore the guys saying 'I do it all the time and get away with it'. If you want to make money with Adsense, play by the rules.

In my eyes, you have no chance of keeping your account. Might as well switch to another program now, because once you hit $100, you'll be an email to you from Google about your account being terminated.

WRONG! They will wait till its payday, then ban him. I think it's just easier this way for them, to check every account once they reach a certain $ amount.
To the OP, your only hope is to confess everything to google, because they know all and see all! At least you'll know right away where you stand with them, and not have to wait another 3-6 months to reach the $100 mark (based on the fact it took you 6 months to reach $50) Just my 3 cents

If the clicks were 6 months old, you should not worry about it. Maybe it will take you another few months to reach your target of $100. Also, you're not making thousands of $$$ every month by fraud clicks. If you reach $100 in another 3 or 4 months, the total time taken for you to reach your first payment will be around 9 + months. Thats completely alright and Google wont ban you for a few clicks.

And don't send them an email about $5.

And $25 of that $50 was from his own clicks so who knows how long it would have taken to earn that much if all the clicks were legitimate.
