I have a Campaign in the Candida Niche Search Network Budget = $40 per day Accelerated Budget All Countries and Territories It has 17 adgroups so far with about 10 keywords in each adgroup 95% of my keywords are GREAT The keywords are mixed between phrase, exact and broad I have positions 1 - 5 for 95% of my keywords. CTR is about 3% or higher keywords aren't very obscure. They're fairly general and related ex: [yeast infection cure] "yeast infection cure" However, the campaign only gets about 60 clicks per day. Does this all sound normal? I thought a keyword like "yeast infection cure" would get TONS more impressions. does this sound like an appropriate daily level of clicks for this niche with 170 keywords in the campaign? I feel like there's some "switch" or something that I need to turn on to release all the traffic. Can anyone else relate to this scenario. It seems everything statswise looks good, I'm just not getting enough clicks. I plan on increasing adgroups and keywords. Any other suggestions? -Jay
I start my bids for each keyword at $5 and specify the #1 position. then every 24 hours, I lower my Max CPC to the previous day's Average CPC (maybe a little above) Eventurally my Max CPC goes down to around .25 and my minimum CPC are set at about .05 I'm still in the number 1 position and i start getting .15 clicks while in the number 1 position. The problem is I get less impressions. How can I find the nice medium between low CPC and high impressions? BTW - Is this strategy above a poor bidding strategy? -Jay
This is a great PPC bidding strategy and it looks like you have been paying attention. Always start high and then lower over time to maintain a high rank with a good discount CPC. As for volume, are you hitting your max budget per day? $40 daily budget with 60 clicks per day is a 0.66 CPC avg campaign cost per click. In this case you may just need to up your daily max to get more clicks If you are not hitting your campaign daily max, then you are probably bidding on keywords that do not get many impressions per day. Keywords like yeast infection cure is most likely not going to get to many hits per day. In fact you can use this tool to give you an estimate. Its not 100% accurate but it get in the ballpark https://adwords.google.com/select/TrafficEstimatorSandbox according to this tool, yeast infection cure get about 30 clicks per day if your bid was set around $2.50. If you bid 0.50 then estimated clicks are around 6 clicks per day. So it looks like your low numbers are accurate. If you want the most bang for your buck usually position 3 will get the most exposure for the least amount of cost.
