my blog here http://verytube.blogspot.com/ (well, i still cant publish live links ) doing collection of all creative videos frim youtube, mostly creative ads. (as i am in the advertising industry) it's been set up for more than 1 week. In the first few days, I have seen CTR of a bit more than 1%. I was quite happy with it. But after google for average CTR, i found that normally ppl get arounf 3% of CTR. So I go on to google for techniques to improve on it, and started to try on different ways to improve it, the color combination, the position, the text/image alternative, and even the content. But since then CTR of my blog has decreased to about 0.5%. It's kind of desperate here. hope some expreienced seniors here can give me some guides, as I am yet the newbie for Adsense. And actually a website is under plan to launch, this blog is somewhat just to gain me experience on this magic adsense. thanks for response. btw, it's my first time here.shake hands to all here, how do you do~
Check your sites ads. See if ads running have anything to do with what site is about. Some ads show up and have nothing to do with site. This is because of keywords for site and other links on site. You could always go back to way site was and try one thing at a time to see what improves CTR.
Thanks ! I've been observing the ads on my blog. and found that a lot of the time the ads are about HongKong hotels. However, I only have one single post about HongKong star a few days ago, after that all are quire focused on TV commercials of beers. But cant get the reason, why they still display lots of HongKong hotels ads here... What are the major elements which affect the ads they're gonna display on my site?
I see ads related to beer at the moment. Since you are posting youtube content, your title tag and what ever you write in your post will have a large influence on what ads are shown. I think placement is fine. You'll have to test as every site is different to get the optimal CTR.
sure. very useful guides. thanks pal. still trying to get people's awareness of my blog. actually collecting creative stuffs is my interest and revenue would be just the add-on glad to me.
People click on ads that interest them. Your pepsi-britney spears page has ads for pepsi vending machines and restaurant supplies. Play with your page title & content/text to get more relevant ads that people will click. You may do better with a non-contextual banner-ad CPM or PPC network.
It depends on site design and placement. My advice is remove all code for 1-2 days and reinclude it. Always experiment.
hmm.. that would make may customers thinking i am off the business.. just tried out a few ways, when i preview it, the ads generated are just as what i want, but when save the page and view again the ads go back to the old ones, unrelevant at all.. maybe need some time for them to update. today's seeing 2 clicks on about 1500 views. desperate.. will try harder
