I'm submitting the stuff I consider god to Digg and stumble and I'm a member of techonorati. I am also holding an RSS feed contest so I can get more traffic that way. I am active in the blog community, but when I'm not promoting, I'm getting almost no traffic. What do you suggest? My blog is http://melbel.com I don't have much money and was hoping that I would get some better traffic to help get me a little more money. At my current rate I consider myself lucky if I get one as click a day on ads. I would like to see myself getting 300 - 400 clicks a day.. That is my one big wish right now. But my ctr is decent so it has nothing to do with placement. I have very little traffic, usually hovering between 40-60 visitors per day but yesterday it was terrible at 15 visits.
I know the feeling believe me... But the worst of all is that my site got removed from host company without me knowing of it...
Okay you ready for the truth- Here goes - Don't kill the messenger 1.) What is your blog about- my first look it went from scientology to a blacken Obama, then France healthcare Find a niche, stick to it and show that you know something about it.. Your title doesn't even let me know what the blog is about- Except one post a day-OKKK No phrase.. no slogan no nothing- I don't have a clue what type of post you will write tomorrow. 2.) Get a better template and I maybe biased cause I make wordpress theme but I've gone back to sites just to look at the theme- So to be honest I wouldn't visit your site unless you were a dear friend. 3.) What makes you diffrent than any other blogger out there- What sets you apart- What is your hook that will keep me coming back..Why do I want to sign up for your rss feed- Are you telling me truth I need to hear, Funny - What makes you a MUST READ BLOG??? Okay now when you think that there are 300 MILLION websites- probably a good 100 MILLION blog then it becomes evident why you aren't getting much traffic- Also up until January you weren't even living up to the slogan you do have which is one post a day- you got alot of months where you only did 5 posts for the month- You don't have much content for google to send lots of traffic.. Okay now that I've said all this- If you still want to continue the way you are- Contact me I have a service that will get you traffic to your blog. Hope I helped
I like the theme honestly. I'm a complete newbie though but it does look like you need to niche your site. It will make writing content easier from what I learned.
Yeah, the niche is news on the left winged side, that's why it looks mixed right now. When I get my base amount of posts down it'll be better. I used to have a post for every single day but I deleted a large majority of them when I changed my niche.
Have you tried other social media websites? I think some of your posts would be great for the Reddit crowd, as well as, Mixx. However, you should get even more niched, in terms of social media websites that cater to your content, you should check out and submit appropriate content to these sites: http://www.plantchange.com/au/ http://www.buzzflash.net/ http://www.hugg.com/ Remember, keep creating killer content!
Try too learn "Modulation"... ie no matter you copy posts and contents but the thing is that how you present if you have different way then you automatically got enough traffic,,,, This is all what i do....
having a contest is such a good way to increase a traffic.. but as I check your contest.. your prize is only $15... some rss contest is worth $50-$100.. bigger prize meansmore contestant and more traffic and more subscriber.. and also the more money will come back
I'd suggest you to try and perform something like this. The most important thing is to find what people are looking for.
Honestly, you're not even supposed to submit your own content to Digg... but try using various social media sites that you CAN submit your articles to. Also, stay active with various bloggers and join other forums besides just this one. If you need a list of blogging forums, I made my own list that has helped LOTS of people out. But I'm more than willing to help at anytime if you need.
try to update your site constantly, as soon as you update your site, dont forget to ping it with blog search engines. this will certainly help you by make an increase of few visitors each day.
i second that. pinging sometimes good. try to add more ping services in your site. I use these and I have about 10% increase in visitors. http://rpc.pingomatic.com/ --- default http://www.blogpeople.net/servlet/weblogUpdates http://bulkfeeds.net/rpc http://ping.myblog.jp http://ping.bloggers.jp/rpc/ http://bblog.com/ping.php
Never Delete Content ! Unless you have posted something that is just completely wrong. All content is a chance for SE's to find you for that particular topic. I would suggest using the "more->" tag with your posts, so that you can scroll through your subjects easier without having to go all the way down the page. Try writing some articles that require some work or investigation, rather than just a personal opinion of everything. you will get more Diggs from something original from a fresh perspective, that is not posted everywhere else. Join: My Blog Log Blog Catalog Bloggers Showroom Think about adding an aStore (embedded in you blog if possible with blogger) with left wing books in it. You may not get any sales right away, but it will go a long way to credibility (since it is free) other that just spouting opinion, and you may get some hits from an article like, "Books from the Left", maybe even review a few. Go to other blogs and leave comments...you "Left Wingers" love to hear yourself talk . Also, (and you won't like this one), if that is your picture..you seem to be a "cutie pie"..Use that to your advantage! Nothing makes a blog more personal..especially when it is based on opinion, than when the author has a picture (or multiple pictures with different expressions or situations), and an about page. Some other things: *Never put any stats on your blog, if they suck. Remove the "16 rss readers" from the blog all together. No one wants to return, or participate in a dead community. *Get a different RSS Button that stands out more, and place it where it can be seen plainly. * Consider putting a menu at the top of the page, so that people don't have to scroll , or guess what you and your blog are all about. *Nice contest, but $15 won't cut it. Spend that money on a Political Commentary Book, and give that away, or a gift certificate to Amazon Books. Just a few suggestions that I have gotten over the months about my own blog.
I noticed that this post, "Was Obama's Skin Darkened For Clinton's Ad?" was mostly from another blog. Try and make your content as original as possible. Offer your own opinions and thoughts. That’s what will make your blog unique.
I think you copied and pasted this from the last time I asked a question because some thing you've said no longer apply.
Advertising, social bookmarking ect might help you get some traffic. But if you wanna get some visitors that will come back and not just visit your blog for 10 seconds... you need good CONTENT. Just keep posting quality, interesting articles and you will get traffic, don't worry. Also try exchanging links with other similar blogs.
