Hi there I recently started my blog www.ollysguitar.com and I am enjoying blogging. I am wondering if some people could take a look and advise if I should be doing anything else with it to improve it or any advice on improvements? Thanks a lot in advance.
It is a good unique niche. All I think you should work on is: -Your blog theme, it is too congested. -Try reducing some ads, you don't want overadd. Other than that it is fine, you should have a good blog.
Yeah I would get rid of the ads for now. Just have one, so that readers can't say you "Sold Out" if you add more advertisements in the future. At this stage of your blog you really shouldn't be worried about advertising, but building up a readership. In my blog, which is about 3 months old, I've worked really hard and have minimal advertising and make very little money - but I am focused on good content to keep an audience over time. Use google analytics and try and increase the number of PAGES visitors visit and also the amount of TIME they spend on your site. If you can get these things up it means you have a great blog and if you have a great blog with more and more readers you'll be able to make money through adverts in the long run. Hope that helps.
Hi Thanks a lot for the tips. So would you reccomend keeping one of the affilliates on there or maybe just the one advert of adsense? thanks for the help - its apprecaited. Olly
I think the affiliates look a little classier. They seem to add to your site a lot more. Adsense is a strange one - I'm personally not the biggest fan. Trial one then the other and see if there is a big difference in cash.
Design is good, however, the page sort of looks way too congested with everything. Try arranging that out, and maybe.. get a suitable background. Other than that, things are good
Ok thanks for the advice. I am unsure how to correctly alter the layout but I will get on the case and try! Thanks a lot once again
Cool. I would not have EVERY post promoting an affiliate link though - excuse me if I have not looked closely enough but it seemed that way on a quick look. I would have a few posts sprinkled in there about guitar playing in general, with not a single link. just my 2c Gal
