My blog cannot be open 70% of the time! I don't understand, please help

    Dear forumers,

I have a problem with 2 of my blogs.

The problem is 70% of the time, I cannot open my blog. I bought the domains from godaddy and the domain expiry date is in June. The domain is not expired. I checked with Godaddy about it, but they say that nothing is wrong and the direction to the hosting is ok.

If the problem is from my hosting account, why my other blogs in the same hosting are ok? I have another 10 blogs/domains in the same hosting account. 3 domains are from godaddy and another 7 are from cheapdomain. The 2 domains from godaddy that i mentioned cannot be open 70% of the time whereas the balance one domain that is purchased from godaddy has no problem. All 7 other domains from cheapdomain can be opened.

Please help. I'm losing traffic because of this...and also money too...

the problem must not be from the domain registrar, it must be from hosting only. try backling up the posts and reinstalling the blog. One more thing you can do is to use WP Super Cache plugin ( I assume your blog in Wordpress based )

    Hi Psharma,

    Thanks for your feedback.

When you say backling, does that mean back up?

Are you saying by installing and using WP Super Cache plugin, my blog will be OK?

    Yes, I'm using wordpress.

    Thanks for your kind feedback

I meant backing up ( back up ) . WP super cache is not a solution to any problem, it just makes the blog some times faster ( and will save you if your problem arises from mysql)

Check your DNS settings... sometimes misconfiguration may lead to unstable website condition.

    Wow...things had got really tricky.

As suggested by psharma, I want to try to back up my blog. As I was about to enter my cpanel, I can't get through it.

Then I realized that the domain for my cpanel has already expired!!! I very seldom open that blog of mine, and that's why i didn't realize about the re-direction!!!

I did not get any notice and that was very sad and frustrating. For my other domains, I have set them to auto renew in my godaddy and cheapdomain account.

Now, I'm contacting the person whom I bought the domain to help me sort this out. I also contacted the hosting company to help me trace back the domain so that I can pay it.

Could this be the problem that I cannot open 2 of my blog?

I don't know yet. Maybe it is just a coincidence. Anyway, as soon as I can get my other domain back for my cpanel, I'll get into it and try to back up and install wordpress back again and register the domain again as well.

Any ideas? Anybody can help me provide some feedbacks or advice so I can sort this mess faster.

    Thanks.

So this was the issue, you clearly stated that your expiry date is june, but here you mistaken.
Hope after renew your domain you will be in fine position again.

    Good Luck.

Nope. That one was a different domain.

The 2 domains that I mentioned on the early part which are "A" and "B" expires on June.

However, the domain "C" that was link to my hosting account which contain "A" and "B" has expired early this month.
I do not regularly visit domain C and that was the part of the problem.

The reason I realize this problem was when you suggested me to back up it. So I try to go to my cpanel and that was when I notice the problem.

But, I'm not sure whether this is coincidence or not, because at this moment blog "A" can be opened while blog "B" cannot!!!

    Oh ...what is happening??

People can help you out more precisely if you name your registrar and hosting here. and the domains as well if possible.
Try a support ticket to your hosting provider to look into the matter.

    OK, I appreciate that.

    Domain/blog A = cyza.us (bought from godaddy.com)
    Domain/blog B = 1heatexchanger.info (bought from godaddy.com)

    Domain/blog C = zakiyamani.com (bought from sempoihosting.com and later transferred to namecheap.com)

Last year, the guy which I bought the zakiyamani.com from, transferred that domain to namecheap.com.

Now, I can't find zakiyamani.com in namecheap.com. I've contacted the support and waiting for their response. I also contacted the guy (sempoihosting.com) and waiting for his response.

Can you help psharma? Really appreciate your help...

    Thanks

From my computer BlogA and BlogB are opening comfortably (Their Page Ranks are 0 and 2 respectively )
I tried refreshing them a few times and browsed some pages as well, seems no problem.
They both have good time left before they expire.

DomainC is certainly expired (on 7th march) and showing a Parked Page.

Now which domains according to you are not opening 70% of the time? is it DomainC ?
If it is DOmains A and B then what they have to do with the Domain C ?
Which hosting service you are using ?

Yes you are right of the PR.

They can now at this moment be opened. Those two blogs are the one that cannot be open 70% of the time. Now it can be opened. Then later cannot.

Domain C is still under investigation. I've contacted namecheap support to assist me on this domain C renewal.

For all those domains, I use a local hosting company called rawanaz.com.my.

post here the next time you face the problem. and again what if the third domain has expired? You can still login to your hosting control panel, No?
and better you try WP Super Cache first of all, it is safe and makes your website fast.

OK, sure I'll post here again if I face with such problem.

I just realize that my 3rd domain is expired when I can't got through the cpanel.

And yes, I'll use the WP Super Cache when the problem is resolve.

Thanks a lot for your help and support.

Just to clear something up for you - If you have 3 domains and 1 expires it should not effect the other 2 unless you have some weird setup going on. The main domain associated with my primary hosting account has expired 2 years ago but there is no negative effect on the active domains hosted there.

Are you sure you haven't been hacked? When you say it can't be opened do you mean accessed as a visitor or (since you say blogs) can you not log-in as administrator?

The 2 domains/blogs can be open and cannot be open.
The expired domain now cannot be opened as it has become parked domain.
The 2 domains/blogs at this moment can be opened although the 3rd domain (C) cannot be opened.

Unfortunately, the 3rd domain is the domain for my hosting. Now, I cannot access my cpanel to back up my other 2 domains (A and B).

I'm not sure if it has been hacked!!!

Unfortunately the expired domain is lost though you should still be able to access the files stored for it. Have you tried to get support from the hosting company?
Do you use ftp? Can you access those files that way?

As I said - the expired domain should not have any effect on you being able to access Cpanel. You should still have direct access to Cpanel through your hosting account.
