Forum is a big big help, by joining in a relevant forum sites in your niche and exchange your ideas. Forum allowed you to use the signature to promote your site but do not overdo it.

 

Forums for me and blogs are good for me.

 

I am doing all off-page work for getting traffic.

 

This is a black hat method of SEO and if someone (i.e. one of your competitors) notices when doing reverse analysis and reports you for it, you could be penalised.

 

Unique Article promotion is the best method in SEO so far for me.

 

I agree classified submission is also a great way of link building but as I had heard they are just temporary coz' your listing will be deleted within two weeks..For me off page optimization still works with the best results .

if you are targetting keywords then you can use too many strategies.. but if you want traffic which is relavant or non-relavant then its not necessary...

i used link wheel to improve rankings...

I'd say relevancy in off-site SEO (i.e. link building) is a good thing. First off, any traffic that comes from it will be relevant and higher quality, thus a better chance for the visitor to convert. Also, if one is to believe latent semantic indexing, relevancy will most definitely help with SEO and ranking.

Blog commented worked great, so did article submission.

 

The trouble with classifieds is that they give you a limited link life. Usually blog comments are archived forever. Also articles tend to have a long web life.

 

My tactic is to write articles and the link them to my blog or hub. It works very well for the niche categories I write in
