Write articles then submit to digg.com Yup, as simple as it may sound this has been my best SEO tactic at least as far as what I am seeing in google analytics. 70% of my traffic comes from google. 20% from digg and 10% from sites linking to me so far. The two keywords that I was seoing for probably only account for 5% of my traffic. The rest of the traffic is coming from long tail keywords. Just think about it. Everyone is competing for all these high traffic keywords so it is very difficult to rank in those keywords. However, there is still a lot of traffic out there that is just coming from people who are typing 4+ word long phrases. You can't possibly seo for all those phrases. The only way to get more traffic from those searches is simply to write content and lots of it! Also digg.com's articles will generally get ranked very high. So that is a plus if your site is rather new. Depending on how decent the content is people will start linking to you. Over time all those links here and there will boost you up in rankings. Oh yea and the site is rather new, probably two months old.
Its a good way to kickstart your site if its new, for the long term it's not a good solution, you need more links from multiple sources.
most of my visitor comes from SE..some from blogcatalog...but I think to be good in SERP you have to link building
Wow that's Great best SEO tactic. I will try it out immediately, Caused I usually use blog directories.
I agree with you we can get visitors from digg.com but for me, most of the visitors are not targeted and the bounce rates are high
Usually traffic from digg and other social bookmarks doesn't convert that well. But it does help to increase Alexa rank.
As many others have said, unless the title on Digg is spot on and all you want is readers/visitors a great deal of the traffic you will get from Digg will have a high bounce rate and is much less likely to convert. That said, I think it is also important for your content to be extremely good stuff before submitting it to Digg and/or that you have someone with some reputation on Digg to submit the page... otherwise it will just get buried.
Very true. I think there is not too many easy way to find quality traffic. Write articles and let Google do justice to your dedication. Most of the loop holes are being closed by Google. If you are a long term customer build your website, develop the content and gradually you see traffic catching up.
You should consider submitting it to all the major social media sites, it's instant backlinks and you never know who might visit it. Remember webmasters find things to link on services like this every day.
The best method for seo to me is one that you can rinse and repeat most effectively in the time you spend doing so.
Unfortunately in the real world, that's not exactly how it works. There is no magic bullet in SEO, it's a combination of many different factors and can't be narrowed down to an exact science. About the same time someone comes up with a rock solid formula google changes things and it's worthless.
