I know this thread could possibly be placed in quite a few topic areas in DP. But for the time being I will have it here and take the heat if necessary. As a few of you may know I run a paidposting service informational site. Well I oft times go through and try to update my listing of paid posting sites. I did this, this morning. I came across one site, the owner who previously worked for me when I owned Adhocpost. I had fired him for plagerizing prior to the sale of Adhocpost. Now to come find out the paid posting service he now runs has a job completed section for the public to view. Some of his work he has listed to his services credit were done under my ownership at Adhocpost. Even though the some of his posts were posted on the 20th of April and I sold the site in the first week of April. 1 of the sites listed was mine( which I just sold about 3 weeks ago - another site was my daughters site - domain no longer good) I can personally vouch saying We never hired his service. The other sites I know of - I know that his company did not do about the third of the work. I personally know this and still have the paypal receipts. Everything is identical, the job that was done, the post count and where the job was found. I have blogged about and pm'd him at his site as well. I know this is the best that I can do for the time being. But is there any suggestions of what should be done? I do not like the fact someone is trying to get credit for work that they were never hired to do as a service.
As a forum owner myself, i would not like anyone to know if i had hired people to post in my forums. I am surprised that your clients are willing to be referenced on your website. As for your dilemma, Im not sure there is much you can do about. I know it must be frustrating but try not to spend too much time wrrying about it and focus on improving your services instead.
When I owned Adhocpost, My listing for jobs were hidden from the public and only certain people were allowed to view it. Like I said he previously worked for me and obviously took the listing from there and put it on his site for the public to view on his site. When I ran the service, I guarateed my clients confidentiality. He is the one he ran with the listing publically and put the listing on his service. Adhocpost still keeps it confidential. And yeah I will take your advice and worry about my service which is to discuss and put information up about paid posting services. I personally dont run one myself anymore. I am purely a freelancer now.
