Back on November 30th, we paid the owners of paidposts.com $350 to make 1000+ posts on two of my websites. We waited and waited and waited. After several weeks had passed, I instant messaged them and they said that they were working on it. A week later we still had nothing. They said that all of their posters were on vacation but they would get on it in early January. After the first week of January, I had seen absolutely no progress. I emailed them to ask what was going on. I told them that I was getting nervous and starting to feel that I was getting screwed. I said I had better see some results soon or I was going to demand my money back. They responded with comments that our forums were too hard to post under. (One forum was a band/music/recording forum with 150 members and around 4000 posts that anyone with any musical background could make 1000 posts with. The other was a payday loan site that also has a large debt reduction portion.) If you can't post about music or debt reduction, what good is such a service? I responded to their claims of our forums being “too hardâ€. I told them that was a poor excuse. I had better see a flood of posts or I was going to demand a refund through Paypal. They ignored my request. They've forced me to file a complaint with paypal. Unfortunately, paypal says I can't complain after it's been 45 days. (It's been 53 days so far). In other words, up to this point, I've been totally scammed and may be out my money. I'd love to end this post with a happy ending that says I got my money back. However, it looks like paidposts.com took me for a ride. I'll gladly update this post if the situation improves. I just wanted others to know of my experience. Brandon
Thanks for the warning... It is run by a member here http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=32213
Actually I think he sold it at the start of this year - I remember reading the sales thread here and it did say something about completing "pending" orders.
Yeah, you are right http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=49910 But he said he ordered on November, long time before the site was sold.
Sorry to hear that. I made the mistake of buying from them also. I only bought 100 post to try and it was suppose to be posted by 2-3 person. The quality was low but after the couple of days, the poster came back and changed every post to a text that this was paid post and this company was scam and they haven't paid him. It took many hours to find and delete all those posts. I contacted them and they posted another 100 post that was more or less a joke. That is the reason I have given up on such services and I don't think I will ever buy again in this way.
The real problem is that these crappy services are popping up like mushrooms. Any hillbilly and a bunch of his buddies think they can create such a service. It sure sounds illogical to see someone claiming "oh, we can post on any subject, no matter what your forum is about".
fryman you are right but I bought after some older member here recommended them in a thread in DP. I send a PM to the member afterward and he said that it worked fine for him the first time but now after hearing so many bad things about them, he has changed his mind.
There seems to be a HUGE market for a real professional agency to do this. I mean, some place where they had real professionals, like doctors, lawyers, and similar people willing to do some freelancing stuff and posting at forums. Wonder why no one has created such a site.
I think the problem is to find the right people. I advertised couple of time that I pay $.1 (The market price) for posting in my forum but you can not get anyone good. For a company to make a profit, it means that they have to charge the customer $.1 and pay the poster only $0.05 which makes it even more difficult in North America. The only hope is to get a professional group in India but while they can work for those prices they won't have the knowledge about cultural life in North America and Europe to make the posts.
its unfortunate that this has happened, and it's bad experiences like that which make it harder for honest services like mine. i had a couple bad experiences with two posting services, which I wont name, but they were so bad, i decided to start my own. i GUARANTEE no client gets that level of service from us, and i completely understand if you were done with posting services altogether. They are mostly run by highschool kids looking to make an easy buck, and have no clue what customer service really means. im a professional, have been in the computer customer service industry for over 10 years, and know how what clients deserve, and that is what my service gives. im not trying to get your business, just tell you that not all posting services are created equal i wish you the best trying to get your money back
There are very few bad reviews here for whatever reasons. A couple of good reviews don't mean anything.
I gave PaidPosts a shot as well, and was extremely disappointed. I paid for 1000 posts over a month. During the first 2.5 weeks I saw about 100 postings...meaning that had half the time left to do 90% of the work. I spoke with him on msn about it several times and he kept making excuses. During week 3 I threatened to chargeback and he put up a big argument on MSN that he still had a week to deliver and that paypal would let him win the arguement. At the time it made sense that paypal probaly wouldn't interrupt until the end of the contract so I left it at that. But I warned him that if I didn't see all the postings on time I would chargeback. So the postings picked up over the week. He did come very close, but he didn't hit the target of 1000 posts. I didn't bother persuing it, it was only off by about 30 posts in the end. So I tried hiring another group that posts regularly here. These guys had good reputations from several members on this board so I figured it was safe to try. The result, I paid for 1000 postings and only got 300... Suffice to say, I didn't take that very well. My conclusion is that forum posting companies are full of crap and not worth the time.
I understand that but the guy who recommended them was and is one of the good guys here with high post count. I am sure it worked fine for him but many of these type of business start with good intention and after noticing the difficulties in running such business then everything goes downhill from there.
The fact that you paid a posting company $350 speaks volumes about your intelligence..or lack thereof. Contact your CC agency and get a chargeback. If you paid directly out of paypal funds by bypassing your bank account you are screwed. Chalk up the loss.
nice job at caping the eye! i'll come to you when i need a so called 'professional' to get me some so called high quality posts on a message board.
This thread has reminded myself on why I haven't started offering this service yet. I've considered aligning Article Authors with a reputable service, but as you can see this sounds almost like a lost cause. I've debated setting up as service as an inhouse offering for other sites (meaning I'd use my own writers, I do have over 70 of them ) but from a business profitability viewpoint I don't think the money is there. Are there any services that have been around for more than a year?
BACK OFF! You have no right to cast judgement my way. I read a number of favorable reviews from reputable members of this forum. Based on their reputation at the time, it was very intelligent to give two of my forums a huge boost in a time when posts are very difficult to come by. In fact, I found zero negative reviews at the time. The idea for the service is tremendous to any webmaster that is hitting a new market. When new to a particular category, it's very difficult to get new members to your forum without shelling out an excessive amount of time. The fact that you openly insult a person when you have no idea of the facts reflects on your apparent level intelligence. Obviously, I made a mistake going with paidposts.com. I wouldn't say I was stupid for doing it. I got scammed. The next time I'll be a little more careful. Brandon
It was me that vouched for them...I don't mind people knowing that. I got great service and excellent posts but I was probably customer number 2 and I got the smallest package they offered. Others who paid them early were also happy but then it went pear shaped in a big way. He gave great service, got people to recomend it (and why not, it was great) then got lots of customers and stopped emailing etc. If I could have taken back the recomendation, I would have. I obviously never used them again because of all the complaints. I made my point in the many complaint threads at the time that I had gotten good service but based on the downhill slide I would advise anyone from using them now. Unfortunately quite a few people paid money in that one week period in between.
