My Arcade Journey

So I have been reading a ton of threads on DP about arcades and how they are easy to set up and maintain, but are a difficult niche to make money in. I decided to set up my own arcade from scratch and post my results from each week in this thread.

Week 1:

To promote the website:
-I posted in this forum among many others
-Used the funklicks.com arcade banner exchange
-SEO'd the website (I'm getting about 10 google hits a day)
-Generally promoted the website in my signature and in any other ways I can

Adsense Stats:
-36 clicks
- $5.67 in earnings

Traffic Stats:

 

Not bad, how did you get so many clicks? And can I see a link please?

the key to getting a good amount of clicks is ad placement!!!!!

From your experience, with proper ad placements and a large collection of games and large amounts of promoting and a dedicated server, could I run an arcade successfully with weekly or monthly cash prizes?

I know an arcade that does it, I am curious how possible you think it is?

be careful because people can cheat scores.

 

I wouldn't go by scores. I just go by the amount of games you play. (I would require a certain time of playing of course)

@Waizujin: Your idea is possible, but it will require a greater initial investment as well as a great deal of work. But if you work hard it could be done. good luck!

Thanks. I think its mostly because of good ad placement.

 

$0.15 per click is way above normal for an arcade. I'd be very suprised if it continues.
