I just tryed a little experiment with Adsense and Adwords. 1.I createad a blog at blogspot.com 2.Searched for high paying keywords with Google, and after that I've tested the keywords bid with Overture. 3.Overture showed that keywords from that set were at 7-8$ per click. 4.Created 7 articles with those keywords. 5.Ok I've started my Adwords Campaign. 6.I set the maximul price per click 0,20c. 7.A day after I recived 2 clicks, but my adsense acount showed me that 1 click value is 12c not 7 or 8 how Overture says. What did I do wrong ?
You won't get those HIGh paying ads on your pages. Ads are triggered based on keywords on your site/page and many other factors, so its not necessary that you will get that 7-8$ ad on your site right away. On top of it, there is always smart-pricing bringing your earning per click in the range of few cents.
I Also use to advertise my site with adsense and affiliate links with adwords as my Branding strategy. I have seen clicks earning upto $1.2 in a less competitive field. My point is, Google will never punish any site for putting adsense and directing the adwords traffic to that pages, unless that pages was only meant to be for catching the visitors and forcing them to click. I have seen sites pages which are so ugly and adsense ads are everywhere. Adwords advertsiers were very concerned about these Arbitrage. Thats a bad tactics and Google Hate this. Read this forum posting http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=106546 what effect it has caused on adwords. Legitimate publisher need not to be worry. As it is only going to increase their EPC. Google has made changes for landing page and since than my EPC has gone up. Thats the reason we publsihers work hard to generate Good quality content and Google Love that. Nuttymarketer
I am new to Google Adwords. I am thinking of using Google Adwords. Can someone guide me on to get more info on words like "Arbitrage". Thanks in adavnce.
It means paying less in adwords for getting in visitors and hoping they would click high paying adsense ad to get out.
This is completely untrue. I have an adwords campaign directing traffic to a sales page that sells a book. The sales page has testimonials, the product, info about the books content, samples, etc. I also have adsense on the site. Adwords now wants me to pay $5 and $10 for keywords I was paying $0.10 and $0.15 for previously. So yes, I was punished and yes, I am a am a legitimate publisher that gets NO clicks now because I cant afford the adwords campaign to get people to the darn site to begin with....
You do realize that it's not MFA sites that are getting penalized, but legitimate businesses? The reason for his low earnings might be the free blog hosting domain, rather than actual "smart pricing". Saying arbitrage is wrong is like saying buying product from a supplier and re-selling it at a profit is wrong. It's called free market.
