The moral of the story here is that Google wants to help sites that provide quality content to it's users and if you are making your money on spammy websites then don't expect that to last forever. If you provide good quality content then Google will reward you with traffic.

I doubt that every quality website will be rewarded. This algorithm change gives way to negative SEO. It becomes easier for your competitiors to compromise your backlink structure and to evoke a Google punishment.

 

Maybe your website have duplicate content, lack of huge content and your site have over optimized.

 

Its penguin update. Google has changed the algorithm few weeks after Panda. Webmasters were recovering from the Panda but Penguin has made another impact.

 

Update was targeted to keyword stuffing.
