    Alexa has a big purpose in the advertising world. If you claim your site gets 100,000 UV/month, but your rank is under 50,000...people will think your lying.

    Its also fun to brag about to fellow webmasters, lol.

    It seems like you all think in small numbers...

    I have over 2000 sites below 400,000... And another 500 below 100,000... And a few in the 20K to 40K range...

    Stop working on one website and think bigger.

    Alexa rankings are next to worthless. Very easy to manipulate unless you are below 10,000. The lower the more reliable.

    when was the last time Alexa was updated? I seem to have been stuck at the same number for at least 6 months (1.4 million)

    I have a few successful sites and I have never checked to see what their Alexa rating is. For me, it is useless.
