Hello, my website is about 3 months old now and since then I've been slowing climbing up in the ranks from 10,000,000 to 986,423. I finally broke the one million mark, which is a huge deal for me, however the rank has been stuck at that for almost 3 weeks now. Usually it updates every week, if not every couple of days. The worse part is that right when it decided to get stuck, my traffic increased by huuuge amounts. My site is a gaming site, and the problem is that development companies decide how much attention they're going to pay to my site based completely on my Alexa rank. This is killing me! I've contacted Alexa already but it's been over a week with no response, so I doubt anything is going to happen with that. Any information on this? Has this ever happened to anyone else? Any suggestions on getting this resolved? Thanks.
Hey, dont worry about it. Alexa has changed their methodology for rankings, it's been around for 1 to 2 weeks. There are some tricks you can apply; - install Alexa widget on your site; - blog about them - run autoruns programs (this is my referral for my favorite one Autohits) Also if you write directly to the guys on alexa blog will have more success to have a reply. http://awis.blogspot.com/ Good luck mate Lucio
Ok, thanks I'll give those a try. So, do you know if all the traffic I've had over the past few weeks will be taken into account when my rank finally does get updated (or should I say if it ever gets updated)? That would really suck if it doesn't...
Short answers is Yes it will be taken in consideration. The outcome is, it can damage your ranking or help, God knows how is the new methodology.
Well, I do think that it updated right when the new method began because one day I was at around 800,000 and then the next day I was where I am now at around 900,000. A few days later I started getting tons of traffic. Great timing, haha. I just wonder why it isn't being updated. Are other sites having this problem? What's the whole 'updated method' all about?

Yes! My rank was finally updated! I guess everything was taken into account too because I went from 980,000 or so to 331,427.
Thats because Alexa was not updating their ranks system for 5-6 days and now its back to normal daily updations.
