Hi, I have bought few sites recently and I noticed that whenever I buy a site from someone and move it to my hosting IP, that site starts giving less revenue and decline in revenue is very visible. Few sites which I have bought already but haven't moved to my hosting yet are still giving good earning becuase my adsense still running on them but I haven't moved from seller's hosting to my hosting yet. How can this happen? Does that make sense to anyone? Will truly appreciate your feedback and suggestions. Regards, SA
It could be a number of things. Changing the adsense code can certainly affect earnings due to smart pricing. Each adsense account it rated according to how the traffic converts for the advertiser. Hosting location can affect rankings because of geotargeting. Adsense earnings aren't constant - fluctuations are normal. The seller could have shown you faked screen shots of their earnings. Just changing hosting doesn't affect your earnings.
Maybe the person who sold you the site was doing some sort of promotion, which they have stopped once they no longer owned it.
changing domain will not reduce the traffic, ranking, or revenue. however, there are lot of pump and dump scams going on out there where people setup a site, do some promotion to drive traffic and adsense earnings, then sell the site. new owner will not have the same earning as the earning previous owner was getting was based on one time temporary promotion or traffic generation. or there is a posiblity that the adsense stat you were shown was fabricated (happens always)
