I had many friends locally and online ask me to type up a little guide on using Adsense, and today I finally did it. You can check it out: http://www40.brinkster.com/patjk/money.html If you have any suggestions, recommendations, or comments, you are welcome to let me know. I plan on adding to it on a regular basis. Page works fine for me at 9:53 AM! Back to read it now. <edit> All in all, a good primer for beginners, but I take issue with these items - It IS OK to tell your TOTAL earnings, but NOT OK to tell your CTR, CPM, earnings per ad, or other stats. Google states that section targeting may take 2 WEEKS - it is NOT instantaneous - "You can use section targeting to make suggestions about as many sections of a page as you like. However, please be aware that we can't guarantee results, and that it may take up to 2 weeks before our crawlers take into account any changes you've made to your site." Adlinks are a TWO-CLICK system. It IS OK to click on the Adlinks Titles to see what the links are - it is NOT OK to click on the ads that are then displayed by Adlinks.
its fine now. Just had a quick read through and this is a good article for beginners especially, keep it up!
It should be working now. Sorry about the problems. If it is down again for you, refresh the page, and if it doesn't load, please post here. Thanks
Interesting. It is strange that none of that information I would really know if I hadn't joined this forum...but nearly all of that I have picked up. But great link for quick reference. Thanks!
" At 200 impressions a day, with a 10% CTR (very high, yet possible), a publisher will have 20 clicks and can make anywhere from $1.70-$5.00 +/- each day. $5.00 a day x 30 days a month is $150 a month x 12 months = $1,800 each year. Considering only 200 impressions a day, that is not bad" I'd just like to note, that if reality would adjust itself to meet your example half-way, I'd be making coupla thousand a day.
Computer(Jew): It was an example. The funny thing is, on one of my sites, that is exactly what is happening.
Yeah, 10% CTR is pretty optimistic. But then we have all scene the sites that push the TOS envelope and kinda sorta trick the visitors into clicking an ad link because they don't realize that it is an ad. So maybe possible but not totally ethical?
I have seen many webpage that have a steady 10% CTR, that abide by all TOS/policy. It is tough to do, but possible.
