My ads wont show..

Discussion in 'Google AdWords' started by Foster5, May 2, 2010.

Last week i started a new campaign, now all my ads are approved, keywords eligible and managed placements eligible. Im trying to do a managed placement campaign obviously for an affiliate program, so search networks are turned off. My billing has been submitted, like I said all ads are approved, links working etc. But for some reason my ads only stay approved and eligible, not active.. They arent showing and i dont know why. Any help would really be appreciated as im getting really frustrated :(

If your ads are approved, they are active and ready to show. There are many reasons you are not generating impressions. First failure to outrank competitors. Ranking is based on CTR and bid. Your keywords may not be tightly focused. You may have too few or too many.

I experienced the same issue recently. Apparently, Google doesn't like its ads to land on ad driven landing pages ;) I'm still working a way out of this, but it seems it's not that easy. Even some "fake content" wont fool adwords supervisors so I guess it's either full useful user content or MSN/Yahoo for me :)

I only have about 5 keywords, all are tightly focused on a single subject. But I cant see what the problem would be with keywords since its a placement campaign. Still getting really frustrated after putting over 30 dollars trying to make this campaign work.. now I after all the research and work.. i finally turn the campaign on and none of my ads go active. Fml.

Don't use keywords with placement campaigns. You may be saying to show ads only on specific sites but with the keywords, you are telling Adwords for the theme as well. You shouldn't do it both ways, in most cases anyway, and you may simply be confusing the system. Delete your keywords.

I just tried that yesterday and I still get nothing. I even tried pausing the first campaign, and starting another one with no keywords to begin with. That one wont work either..

Well i emailed them about 2 days ago to see whats up, and they said they were reviewing it which could take 2-3 days. They didnt say anything about being suspended, and I havent done anything to be suspended anyway. I guess if my campaign still doesnt go after a few days for their 'review' ill email them again and see wtf's really going on.

The google adwords preview tool, to see if your ads were showing there?
    https://adwords.google.com/select/AdTargetingPreviewTool
(copy & paste to your browser window)

If the account is still not in review, its the problem of beating competitors as mentioned by Lucid Web Marketing above. Try increasing your bidding.

    Just my 2 cents!

Also update us all how you sorted out the problem.

ok they finally emailed me back yesterday saying my review is finished and my ads should be active... but theyre not. I raised my placement bids to 20c, which may not seem a lot but seriously out of almost 50 placements still not 1 impression? I cant go above that either on my budget.. really in need of some advice haha.

Being active doesn't mean they'll show. You still have to have a QS and bid that outranks others. If you are ranked 12th, you are not showing on the first page and unless searchers go to page two and beyond, you'll have no impressions. The principle is the same for the content network.

Can anybody confirm this slapped stuff? Does that really happen, where your ads look active and they just don't like your account?
Cuz I see a couple ppl with really low post counting talking about slapped, while all the ppl with high post count + rep seem to be talking real sense. And that triggers my b.s. detector :/

Your ad should be good to go....just increase ur bid a lil bit so its higher than the competitors in your niche. If you can't afford it with your budget, maybe try finding a better niche with less competition....but then u have to wait FOREVER for adowrds to approve your ads again lol.

Hmmm.....try adding a few more key words.

Try making a new AW account with the same campaign. It's worth a shot.
