My ads dont work at home

Hi need help our ads come up at work in google search but why cant I see my ads at home google adwords said some pc users IP is hidden our ads target location is for one city only Brisbane when I change it to the whole country Australia I now see my ads at home but now costing me double. So how many people are we all missing out on if you localise your areas. google tech said " google search engine can not recognise some IP addresses therefore you have to target the country not just city " Please can anyone share there thoughts on this.

Geo-targeting generally works well for countries but they do seem to get a lot of ip address wrong for smaller regions. I was in Brisbane earlier in the year and my IP address was saying I was in Melbourne.

I wonder how many clicks I am missing out on than and to say the least google adwords is too.

 

Oh sad if you are spending double then required, But luckily i saw my own ads many times and unluckily i clicked on them too, how bad.

 

True, geo targeting is still hit or miss. For example, my home IP (Illinois) always shows up as Kentucky. I seel some ad space basedon geo targeting and always remind people before te buy that it's not a perfect science.

 

Yep, happens to me too. Apparently my IP address is on Vancouver Island while I live on the mainland.

You could try this: http://www.google.com/search?adtest=on&hl=en&q=camping+tents&gr=US-IL&gcs=Chicago

and modify it for your city. This allows you to view ads in other cities.

 

Ip cant exactly response where u are.so u cannt see your ad at home.

 

If you only just did it then give it a day or two this also happened to me.
