My 5000th post is dedicated to my dog Angel

Over the weekend my dog Angel became paralyzed in both her back legs. She will probably be put down sometime this week. It happened suddenly and the cause is unknown. She was 6 years old. She is the happiest friend I have ever known.

Aww... I'm so sorry to hear this, she looks like a lovely dog with a lovely nature!

I had my dog put to sleep last year, not a day goes by without me thinking of her.

I hate it when my pooches get sick... it aint fair that their lifespan is much shorter than ours! My alsatian Prince got run over (he was 4-5) and my dane Duchess contracted some infection (she was 5).. they died a couple of years ago and I cried like a little girl :( Now I have a lab Maya

Dogs love you unconditionally... and I just hate losin em'... I'm truly sorry for you Cy

Sorry to hear that. I had to put down my 9 year old German Shepard a few years ago when she loss use of her hind legs. I know how you feel. At least you know that you are doing the humane thing by not letting her suffer for a long time.

Apologies on that, hope she recovered. Just saw that lovely dog and did not see the rest of the post :(

Must she be put to sleep? Two hind legs paralyzed she still had two front legs, can use some kind of wheels for her. Unless she is in pain or it would be quite sad to put her to sleep.

This is the saddest 5k thread ever. :( I had to put down my dog a few months ago. I certainly understand your pain, Cy. :(
