my 5 keywords are in top 5

my 5 keywords are in 4 th position in yahoo search. How can i move to top 3 what should i do to improve current keyword rank in yahoo search.

I'm not sure if that will help. After all my link building efforts I still don't rank well in Yahoo

 

compare Title & Description Tag keyword density of top 3 ranking in yahoo and make your title & description density around that. yahoo and msn still give some credit to keyword density also build backlinks with your keyword in anchor text

 

Build good quality webpages. Use keywords in the title and description. Sprinkle keywords into the first paragrah of your page. Do your best to write naturally and try to get more inbound links.

Yep.. Build quality links. Links that came from high PR, from .gov, .edu. etc...

 

My main keyword is now at no.1 in yahoo but it still pales in comparrison to being no.5 in google.

 

I think that being in the top 5 is still a good result but now increasing your position will be a slow process... anyway increase inbound link with pertinent anchor text, use keywords in the h1 and h2 tags, etc...

 

Same here, I only get traffic from MSN and still I'm ranked about 20th for my main keyword

 

Continuous link building, providing fresh content of your site can also help. Proper use of keywords as your anchor text also counts.

 

IMO google seems to be giving promience to anchor text in links, and msn gives prominence to keyword in url (page name, domain name). but still failed to find what yahoo gives proiority in rankings

what i do is i optimise for google as it gives more than two thirds of search traffic, and continue with unique content and link building

if you are highly concerned about ranking well in yahoo try submitting to their directory (i dont know how true this but heard people saying that yahoo favours sites which are in their directory, but i dont bother as it is more than $250)

i rank first position for some of the top keywords for my website and still no traffic from yahoo and msn and even if i am one last position of the first page on google i get good hits.
