I've been agonizing over whether or not to accept gambling sites for almost a year now and during that time I held my nose and looked the other way while a couple of dozen gambling sites and non-directories provided me with needed cash. In all I took in $420 from these sites. Well, I've had enough. I removed these links a short while ago and am going to go the squeaky clean route. This directory of directories will be just that. The site is here: All Top Directories if you're interested finding some of the best names in the web directory business!
Just curious... If those gambling/non directory sites made you $420, did you refund their money after you "removed these links"? On this page, you note: Those that spent money with you to only have their links removed might not be too happy right now.
I've sent emails to several with offers to add their links to other sites I own in the hopes I can trade for some of the value. It will be their choice. Frankly, part of the reason I'm doing it this way is to spread the refund payments out over a month or two for those that don't want an alternative. There were only a handful over $25 and many under $10 so I expect a couple of decent links elsewhere will suffice for the ones that invested minimal amounts. The larger ones will have sweeter offers that I hope they'll accept. Thanks for asking.
Very interesting question. The answer is yes. The issue I have with gambling sites is more that they are NOT directories. All Top Directories is a site for directories not other types of sites.
