I have been checking out DP for the last 8 months or so. I would like some opinions on my site.

    I run a local car forum: http://www.massdriven.com

Unfortunately, it stayed pretty much local and most members are friends of a friend in real life. In the 3 years its been up (almost 4 now), we have seen 1600 members sign up. I see people on here with forums that get that many members within 6 months.

Currently I'm not sure what to do with it because its serves mainly western, mass. I would like to ATLEAST expand to eastern mass but would really rather have New England. The whole "mass" thing can be taken two ways... i.e. Mass in as a whole, not as in the state.

I also just opened up a car audio store on the site with a dropshipper. Our prices are pretty competitive but I just don't see the sales.

I think the biggest problem is I don't have a lot of backlinks and I don't know where to start. I have been listed on DMOZ for quite a while now. I'm not so worried about the car audio site because I might just drop the whole idea. What I would like to do is get ALOT more traffic to the site.

I was thinking maybe we should start writing some articles but I don't know how long a return would take on something like that and if it would be worth it.

    Could anyone provide some insight?
