My 3 months old site get a PR of 5... why ?

I have only backlinks from :
    1 x 5PR wide site (one way)
    1 x 3PR wide site (one way)
1 x 0PR "partner page" (two way exchange)

All the other are "nofollow" links.

My domain is really new (4 month), I don't know what I did to get a PR 5, I did not use special SEO tricks, no cheat, it's very weird... I think it's a mistake from Google ? Do I use a special trick ? Maybe I get a PR 5, but my traffic did not grow up.

Did it append to you ?

Firstly it does not mean that a high PR will guarantee high traffic, they are not closely related. Secondly many new websites reported high pagerank this time around, maybe it will settle for slightly less in next update.

    And well done btw :p

It looks normal to me. You probably got links from some high pr pages with a small number of outbound links. And the pr is nothing to do with your traffic so everything looks ok to me.

The high pr also has to do with the age of your website. If google sees that your website is "aged" then they give it more authority. Also, the fact that you don't have a lot of outbound links is a plus. But really interesting though thanks for sharing.

That's great news that your 3 month old site has become a pr5 site but you must
remember that pr and traffic is not related in any way. To improve your traffic
you must be consistently adding backlinks to your site.

Hi, there is a chance that your site ranked against any keyword also may be PR of your inlinks transferred on your site.

You can also check that how many back links google is counting to your site, may be your domain has lots of backlinks and you dont know about this.

Try other site ranking checkers if they give the same PR status. I know that some PR checkers don't give an accurate data. It all depends on which Google datacenters a PRchecker pulls out its data.

I think this 90% is a thing that most are ignoring: Make a website for people, and not only for Google.

Now with this site, I'm not trying to get a great pagerank, I'm trying to get quality visitors. I have made friendly URL, not to impress Google, they are not specifics keyword, it's only "news" + "id" + ".html". I have made that for easy writting (example, a person would like to copy the url to send it to his mother, I know some people that are not using "ctrl-c" or "right-click")

The site isn't in the Dmoz directory and people are coming to the site by the search engine with some rare keyword. I have verified and all datacenters are displaying a PageRank of 5.

Really strange, I have used a method to make the site that is "Google Approved" ? The domain isn't old, only 4 month. I will check for the next month, and if the site is always 5 or more, I will write in detail the structure of the site that I think Google like.

So my discover with the search engine: a great Page Rank did not really help my site to appear on the first pages with search engine.
