    http://www.saveonconferences.com

Thanks! - The main thing i can say is the "conference call info" link all the way at the bootm nav...it's just a bunch of crappy outgoing links.

But those links were there 3 months ago when the SEO company left. They put them there - so what was the SEO company doing to keep this site ranking #4 for for these three keywords? I'm link building like crazy, diversified too. Maybe google hasnt picked up on these links yet? Ive been heavily link building for 3 months now. I just added three pages of content a week or more ago.

    http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=conference+call

    http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=conference+calls

    http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=conference+calling

googles results numbers are wrong, theyve been reindexing these phrases for like 6 days now, my results keep moving 2 or 3 spots.

conference call is now on the second page... :( it was always #4 or #5 when the SEO company was on board)

    Thanks in advance!!!

It works for yahoo... I'm number 2 and three for all keywords in a high competition area...but with google it seems like a very slow downward trend. I cant figure out what more to do other than removing the crappy outgoing resources pages.

heavily linking could be the factor for being penalized. What method of link building are you doing?

I thought there was nothing you can do in terms of linking that could hurt rankings. The logic being you could knock your competition out of the game.

www.saveonconferences.com 19,028 links currently. There were around 13,000 in october.

All sorts of link building...very diversified. Not all are garbage though! Some are on 7/10PR relevent pages. But that is true, a LOT more links than i actually thought would show up have been showing up.

A site that I havent done any linking on in over two months suddenly popped up on the first page for all three keyword phrases! - It's starting to slip after about a week, but interesting that google all of a sudden took a liking to it.

Ok, it seems you have bought some links from various web sites. I couldn't find many from conference call websites. Backlinks should be related to your site theme as you know, and that is considered as quality links.

The #1 site for the keyword has got less link popularity scores. Yours is way high. But your competitors in top 10 (excluding google, wiki) are all PR5 or above, so even though not many sites are promoting with the keywords, it is going to be tough.

Their backlinks are from various sites, but I have noticed they get lots from blogs. Also some backlinks are from home page. I am not sure what's the cause really. I may have to see other factors, but yours shouldn't be so low. It's possible that Google hasn't found good backlinks of yours yet.

Yours is also in Dmoz. Few of your competitors got in Dmoz also. But I couldn't find the #1 site in there.

The only thing you are losing is the number of anchor text links. freeconference.com got the highest. It seems that Google made their site authoritive. They are #1 with all popular related keywords. So, what you can do is to find where they get quality links (PR6 or above) and compared to your PR6 + backlinks. I think that should give you some idea.

Other than that, I really dont think you are doing wrongly. Domain age doesn't seem to be the factor either... hehe I think your competitors are tough.

The only thing you are losing is the number of anchor text links. freeconference.com got the highest.

how do i find out that info? I'm afraid of overdoing the anchor texts with the same exact keyword - after the google bombing thing got diffused i want to make sure i have a lot of varied anchor texts...maybe that's my problem, i should go back to concentrating on the exact anchor text for the exact keyword phrase i am ranking for? hmmm

Yhanks for the info bro, and thanks for taking the time - very decent of you! Rep added :)
