Hi members! I'm running 8-9 directories, most of them is PHPLD and today i've noticed checking Google Webmasters Tools, that 3 of my directories which has been earlier indexed, is out of index now, Webmaster Tools now says "No pages from your site are currently included in Google's index.". Each is 3-4 months old. It can be a temporal thing by your opinion or are they banned maybe (there was not used any 'tricky' technique on promoting the sites...)
yes, this was my first tip too, but how can affect PR updating indexed pages... (backlinks are not lost and it can't be the reason by my opinion neither). We'll see if there will any change..
Cache is empty also. So no more my pages in their cache. Here is one of them http://www.howtotravel.info (rest two is 2 hungarian niche directory, travel, real estate)
so u did not do anything that might have prompted a ban? guess the best u can do is to wait & see? will updating of PR cause this? seems unlikely...
definitely not. ...and spent some time to build for each the own category structure, adding links, etc... Now i see that not 3 but 4 of my directories went out of index.
so possible that its banned by google? for possibly being marked as a link farm? there have been directories that have been banned before and labeled as link farms
Everything is possible. But if they have marked as linkfarms then currently 99% of directories of the internet are link farms. Google start fighting with a system generated by himself? All my purpose with these directories was to make some background for my normal content sites because all we know in the current google algorithm 90% matters the backlinks and directories and anchor text in keyword search results and 10% the rest (and if some hundred peoples links Stephen Colbert's website with the same keywords (anchor text), even if it's unrelevant with its content he can get #1 rank in the big G)
Ive noticed some of my directories getting thrown around as well and now showing PR0 but i havent cheched last cache date but belive that the backlinks are being reset again 2nd time this month..... http://livepr.raketforskning.com/?u=http://www.mallzip.net http://72.14.253.104/search?q=cache:anfiCkd9PR4J:mallzip.net/+mallzip.net&hl=en&ct=clnk&cd=1&gl=us http://livepr.raketforskning.com/?u=http://www.sleekdirectory.com http://72.14.253.104/search?q=cache...e:sleekdirectory.com&hl=en&ct=clnk&cd=1&gl=us http://livepr.raketforskning.com/?u=http://www.zjek.com http://72.14.253.104/search?q=cache...k.com/+site:zjek.com&hl=en&ct=clnk&cd=1&gl=us Like i said i just now checked and they are still all cached so....... i would think google just playin and testing before the update.. thx malcolm
I hope that just a temporal thing with my directories also but it's a very wrong sign that disappeared from the cache also. Btw. there is one thing which is common in the 5 directories (yes, finally five). If happened it by banning, there's only one lonely thing which is possible as reason: used PHPLD Spider mod to add some links from Google in each... Use this option carefully in your PHPLD directories
Out of curiosity, were they all on the same IP C class and linking to each other? Or perhaps, your on shared hosting with an IP address that was banned b/c of spam? I know there is a debate about if this stuff really matters or not, but I have heard some stories from credible sources, so just curious if this may be it. Morty
they were in two different accounts and rest 5-6 directory still working ok which was linked with these directories, so it's different story.
