Hi guys? You all know about Panda and Penguin update right? One of the effect from those update is it become hard to rank a mini site which contains less than 10 pages. Yup.. that's true. I'm having trouble ranking a niche site of mine. But surprisingly when I move the site from my hosting to blogspot, in a few weeks it already get into 3rd page (without any backlinking). I thought it's hard to rank using web 2.0 Maybe because it's google property. So what I learn is: (1) Sometimes blogspot is easier to rank compared to a .com site (2) It's completely okay to move your article from one site to another (but make sure you delete the article from your old site and wait for a few days before putting it in the new site)
Well, here's the reason why that's the case.... creating a web 2.0 property will always give you a bit of advantage in the beginning... such as squidoo, hubspot, blogspot, etc ... because they already have high authority in googles eyes, and their homedomain is a high pr, so u get a bit of juice from that... creating a normal site on the other hand starts at pr0... makes sense right?
Makes sense but some people I know and me included noticed that there is a difference in wordpress.com and blogspot for example. Some say that blogspot blogs do rank better. I noticed the same but I anyway use wordpress.com due to the usability.
Ranking of blogspot.com has improved these days, but few years before, it was very hard to rank using blogspot.com
Interesting information... What you say makes sense... but... if you have a professionally designed wordpress site, with tons of useful and fancy plugins and great content... Will you be outranked by a free blog with no functions (but maybe great content too) just because it's on "Blogger by Google" ?
