You mentioned on a previous post that you made your highest earnings clicks not on your article pages but on other pages. Without giving anything away, do you care to share what those pages contained?

I'm not sure exactly what you are referring to but within every niche/industry there are generally topics that generate higher EPC. For example let say you have an article on "Buying New Music Albums" that probably going to pull a better EPC than say an article about "Downloading Free Albums" because there would be more competition from advertisers to feature of such a page because the visitors to a page about "buying" music albums are much more likely to buy than visitors want to download free music.

Now whilst I don't worry about these sorts of details much anymore, awhile ago I was looking into it more and across about 50 articles pages I was tracking via channels I saw consistent differences in EPC based on how relevant a page was to the ads and the likelihood that visitors to that page were more likely to be converting into leads.

So at the end of the day if you are looking for a higher CTR and EPC creating the odd page that is highly related to the ads that will be shown on it is a good way of achieving this. Though in most industries the real difficulty is trying to get visitors that are actually looking to consume, because those are the sorts that will most likely click on your ads.

In terms of smartpricing I haven't really had an issue, my EPC has stayed fairly constant if not increased over the last 3 - 6 months. So yeah, I don't really have anything to report on the smartpricing front.

Perhaps start Adsense summary 2007 before next Christmas?

 

I was actually thinking about making a bi-annual report or a quarterly report... it just all comes down to whether I can find some time. That said I think the summary of my 2007 thus far would be quite a good read as well - I have learnt quite a bit in the last 6 months that have taken my earnings to new heights.

 

thanks for giving me the extra confidence i needed as i'm spending a lot of time building a site with a targeted niche, quality resources and content and forums...with main revenue planned on being adsense, selling ad space and clickbank and some days it helps to read articles like this when you are up at 5 am installing plugins and analyzing keywords

 

Curious if you have modified your template any since you posted it?

I see some of your sites and was pretty impressive. I am sure they rank well for many search phrases, and I hope they rank no.1 for the main keywords soon.

Simple ideas, but brilliant I say. I mean how you manage the content, semi-autogenerate some of it, and even get the links. When you explained in one of the threads above that people will link to you when you give value, I thought you were just stating a cliche' , but now I understand what you meant
